So is anyone considering using this INSTEAD of Singapore workbooks and still using the Singapore HIG's for teacher helps based on the concepts?

And, does anybody know if a child is in 1A Singapore math, will they all also be in the 1st Semester MIF book? IS there a placement test that a child could take?? THANKS

I spent a lot of time looking at the virtual sample and compared some to Singapore Stds edition (at least for 2nd grade). It looks to me like they are on par grade wise. Although I also compared 1A and 1b of the Standards edition to MIF, and in MIF they did not go quite as far in multiplication/division as they did in PM in 1B. I believe the RR review said they are about they same -- some things are moved around within a grade, but less so grade to grade.

Yes, I am doing this now. I am using the HIG and the Singapore US texbook. Then I use a workbook. I sometimes use both the Sing and MIF workbooks, since my daughter needs extra practice in math. Honestly, I'm still figuring this out myself, but I think you can definitely get away with using the Singapore HIG versus buying the (very expensive) MIF one.
