ThreeBlessings
Has anyone used Climbing to Good English? During 2nd and 3rd grade respelling is introduced to familiarize the student with using the dictionary pronunciation. I'm finding the concept interesting, though its completely new to me. I'm just not sure what to think about it, lol. Anyone else?
bigdogs29906
No help for you I'm afraid. But I did buy 4th grade to use this year, and I have the 5th 6th Teacher Edition... It looks to be pretty solid. Not neccessarily exciting...but a very decent base. And you can't beat the price.
Jen the RD
Here's a recent thread about CTGE: http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=171448&highlight=climbing+good HTH, Jennifer
TracyP
I have looked at my CtGE 2 oh, 10-15 times trying to decide what I think of the respellings. I finally decided I will just try them next year. I don't understand the need but I can't imagine it could hurt. If I really don't like them I decided their can be no harm in crossing some parts out. CtGE looks like such a solid program and it is so inexpensive. I am always surprised there are not more users. Maybe we should get back together in a year and compare notes.:D
Punks in Ontario
I used CTGE for the older boys from grades 1-3. It is a solid program. We found the pages crowded and the boys didn't retain very well. Even though it's more expensive, we're using CLE now. Retention is much better with less busy pages and regular quizzes and tests. The boys both have bad memories of CTGE.
