Book Club Ideas

Recommended Posts

I just joined a book club for women :) I am really excited!! I love to read but I rarely do anymore so it will be nice to have something for me (not related to homeschooling or house or parenting, etc.).

I have to pick 5 books and then the group will chose one of them. Soooo- hit me with your best! Nothing sad please! Hilarious, laugh out loud funny would be great but as long as it will not have me sobbing I am open to any and all suggestions.

Thank you!!!

Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons by Lorna Landvik

Wonderful book that follows a group of women in a cul-de-sac for the 40 + years of their book club. It is a great book.... laugh out loud parts, sad parts.. lots and lots to discuss. The women are all very different.

Enjoy your book club. I belong to two and look forward to each meeting!

My book club read "Eat, Pray, Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert a few years ago. Made for a great discussion... I don't necessarily agree with all of her choices (it's a true story), but the book did lead to some good instrospection for me.

Since the movie is coming out this summer, maybe your book club might enjoy seeing the movie together in addition to discussing the book?

Have fun with your choices! :)
