TrixieB
My rising 4th grader (who does not particularly enjoy writing) will use R&S 4, finish the last half of WWE 3, and do the first half of WWE 4. Is this "enough" writing instruction and practice for grade 4? Or should I add something else? Dh saw that our co-op has a writing class based on IEW; would that be "too much" along with what I have planned for her?
SilverMoon
Assuming you mean the English from R&S, that combined with WWE would be more than enough writing for a fourth grader. :) Adding even more at a co-op would be overkill, especially for a kid that doesn't like writing, IMO. WWE itself is plenty for a year's worth of writing. TWTM says the writing in R&S is also enough by itself, if you take it across the curriculum and practice the writing in other subjects. My current fourth grade does do a writing curriculum (CW) alongside R&S English, but we keep the R&S lessons low-key.
Ellie
More than enough. There's plenty of writing in R&S English all by itself.
TrixieB
Thanks SilverMoon and Ellie for your feedback. It sounds like writing will be well-covered for next year, so I won't sign up dd for the co-op class.
razorbackmama
I'd say even if you skipped the writing assignments in R&S, WWE would be plenty.:001_smile:
