Melissa in Australia
my ds 6's axolotl climbed out of his tank last night and was found on the floor. he is still alive. I put him back into his tank, and he looked ill. I then emptied 1/2 the water out and put a big rock in so he can climb up out of the water if he needs to. his gills look shrunken. What do I do with him? axolotl's are pretty exotic here in Australia. do I treat him as a frog now that he has come out of the water? Mrs Mungo
My friend says amphibians are prone to internal bleeding. She says leave him be and see how he does. I wouldn't treat him like a frog because they are gilled, even as adults, frogs are not.
Melissa in Australia
Thank you very much. He really doesn't look well. He is just floating on the water.
6packofun
I'm sorry. My dd15 wants one so bad and I think they're adorable. I hope he gets better!
