Holly in FL
I crocheted a pair of fingerless mittens for my daughter...but, one is a little bigget than the other! Ugh! I guess I crocheted a littler tighter with one. Sigh... I've never blocked anything. Should I try and block/stretch the smaller one to match the slightly bigger mitten...or, is there a way I can shrink the bigger one a little? The yarn is Debbie Bliss Cashmerino. Thanks! ~Holly
BritAnnia
Blocking is really easy for smaller items that aren't overly lacey. Dampen the smaller mitten or spritz it with water and pin it to something ( I use a cardboard box for small items). You can adjust it as it dries if necessary and use the larger mitten as a guide for how much to stretch. I'm not sure if I'd want to try shrinking the larger one in case it came out too small. Blocking is reversable, shrinking/felting isn't. HTH

Mom2absh
I have blocked on a thick towel, folded several times. With doilies, I start from the middle, but with the mitten I would start from top and bottom, placing a pin or two at one end, then corresponding pins on the other end. Let us know how it turns out! Mary in VA
Use blocking pins that say they won't rust, otherwise you can get rust stains on the item. Mary
