DawnL
I wasn't sure if this had been shared or not, but, there are about 254 Haitian orphans that have already been matched up with American families. Now that things are so chaotic in Haiti, it's difficult to say if these children will ever make it to their families. I wanted to post a couple of links about this. They are from an American couple that is in Haiti, and they have a Haitian child that they are in the process of adopting. These kids need visas to the United States granted as soon as possible, for humanitarian reasons. I hope it's okay that I am sharing these here. I wanted to get the word out for these families waiting to be whole. http://www.savesolomon.com/ This one is their blog, and it tells about their experiences immediately following the earthquake http://www.kimandpatrick.blogspot.com/ Thank you for letting me share! Cricket
My brother and his wife are one of these couples. We've already contacted our senators! My sister-in-laws senator announced yesterday that it very hopeful that these kids will be granted humanitarian parole.
DawnL
I hope these are granted very soon! These children do not need the rest of their lives delayed.
kalanamak
OT, but I have to say that Solomon is probably one of the cutest babies I have ever seen. I am a sucker for chubby cheeks! I sure hope they can come home soon so that they can re-group before continuing their work in Haiti. :iagree: For me, it was the eyes. My goodness, what eyes! Cricket
Just bumping to keep people aware. My brother and his wife got their daughter early Sunday morning but her brother was left behind. Now that the Haitian government and UNICEF has put a ban on any orphans leaving the country, there is no telling when this family will be reunited. The senator from my brother's state tried to get an exception in their case (since the boy was already approved and has the proper paperwork) but was denied. http://kstp.com/news/stories/S1386153.shtml?cat=
