Sarah CB
I have a deep dish cherry pie in a glass dish and an apple pie in an aluminum pie plate - both are frozen. Can I put them straight into the oven or do they need to thaw first?
sixglides
I always thaw before baking.
LauraGB
I cook mine from frozen. With the aluminum one, you can just cover the crust edges in foil, and bake like normal, just longer by about 20-30 minutes. With the glass one, I'd be afraid of the glass breaking going from frozen to super hot. I think I would cover the crust edges, and put it in the oven while it preheats so the glass can acclimate, and just keep an eye on it. praisefor3
Same as Laura...I just wanted to reiterate covering the edges. I don't like my pie crust dark and this makes it look light and not overdone!
