I am trying to use "real" books for my son's reading/literature. The problem I am finding is that it is possible to purchase lesson plans for most books but who can afford to buy a separate one for every book. So, I have been reading the books he reads and writing my own questions (general comprehension type questions and some thinking type questions). The problem there is that I have to read every book.

 

So, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a Yahoo group where we parents could read the books our children are reading then post our questions so others could use them. Then we could divide the work and use each other's questions when our children read the same books.

Your idea sounds very interesting - what grade level are you talking about??? We do a lot of different types of book reports too - not always just questions and answers.

When I have a book, I usually do a search for the book and then words like "teacher's guide" or "lesson plans" or "study guide."
