creekland
I just checked my son's ACT scores... couldn't sleep last night waiting. Fortunately, he scored high enough to qualify for the $8500 minimum merit scholarship we were hoping for from one of his schools. He barely qualified, so I admit to being a little disappointed as he had done much better on practice tests, but he did qualify so that's what counts! I can breathe again... English, once again, was his bugaboo (sigh) but even with that he still made 97% with his composite, so it worked out. I hope everyone else got (or gets) good news... Now to wait on PSAT's for my middle son... but since he's a sophomore it isn't critical this year.
Leanna Tomlinson
DD just left for the whole day!! I called her cell to get her password and heard her phone ringing in her room. I guess this will be another exercise in patience.... Leanna
Kareni
Creekland, Glad to hear that your son qualified for that scholarship! Yay for him. Best wishes to all who are waiting to find out results. Regards, Kareni
QueenCat
Very pleased with ds score. He's a junior so this was our practice run, and he did better than expected.

Will he take it again or be satisfied with his current score? Regards, Kareni
QueenCat
Take it again. He's 1 point away from full scholarship eligibility at the local state university. Since he has Asperger Syndrome, commuting is the only option we're encouraging him with right now. At least for the first two years. We are fortunate to have a decent state school 20 minutes up the road. Good for him, Cathie! Will he take it again or be satisfied with his current score? creekland
Leanna, what did you find out? Good news I hope... Cathie, my son's SAT scores (taken once) were 30 points away from the decent merit scholarship range. The ACT gave it to him. I think a one point increase is definitely possible... The difference in $$ is definitely worth it. I hope others got scores they were looking for. I guess before it got 'personal' these types of threads didn't matter all that much to me. Now that I 'know' the feeling, I'm definitely rooting for good news for all!
K-FL
We were thrilled w/dd#2's score! She did much better than expected & since she's a Jr., she has plenty of time to improve. The one "drat" that was expected is that she didn't score high enough on the math to get into college level classes. Thankfully she can take the placement test at the cc (free) to get that sequence going.
Leanna Tomlinson
DD did very well. She qualified for the scholarship we were hoping for. I don't know if her (hopeful) college was waiting on her score, or if it was just a coincidence, but she received an acceptance email this morning! (A hard copy is on its way.) I was especially proud of her because she took the ACT with a horrible cold. She said she felt "foggy" the whole day. Leanna

I started an 'acceptance' thread on the college board - be sure to add her and the scholarship to it. :)
