BikeBookBread
I forgot to thaw the chicken for dinner and I'm craving chicken soup. Do you think you can make stock by just putting the frozen bird into the pot? I regularly thaw whole chickens in water in the sink, so would this be any different, except with hot water??? If so, would someone remind me to remove the "extras" once it's thawed... (neck, gizzard, etc...)
Tangerine
This is your reminder! Defrosted yet? I don't want you to have to be picking out pieces of boiled paper sack, if the innards are in a bag in the cavity.
KidsHappen
Absolutely. I have done it frequently.
WishboneDawn
I've roasted and stewed meat before with no thawing. The only thing to remember with chicken it to check it occasionally for a good time to take out the giblets although if you forget it's no big deal. The paper bag stays intact. Trust me. :)
