jibaker103
I loved North and South but it could have been because of Patrick Swaze :D
Lori D.
The General, with Buster Keaton Silent, B&W comedy -- and some of the most incredible backdrops of the battlefields -- just like the Matthew Brady photos! Friendly Persuasion, with Gary Cooper Beautiful, gentle, humorous, poignant. Gives you a greater sense of the time/place, following the conscientious objecting southern Illinois Quaker family prior to the war ramping up; the older son's decision to fight, and what it is like. LibrarianMom
I love the Blue and the Gray. It was a made for TV miniseries first shown in 1983 and I remember getting to stay up past my bedtime to watch it. It should be available through Netflix. I love it because it shows both sides, had some romance, but not to the extent the North and South does.

Catherine
Glory. It's a fictionalized account of real events, but only for high school age kids. Heart-wrenching.
74Heaven
but very good factual accounts. We found the battles too gory for our sensitive 12yo but she watched most of the movie minus the battles scenes which were fastforwarded. Our 15yo and 17yo watched the whole accounts. lisaj
Colleen
As a Ken Burns fan, I can't recommend his "Civil War" series highly enough.
