Warriner's Grammar for *me* to use as resource-which one should I buy?

Recommended Posts

I tried to search old threads but I can't find which one I should buy. I am not familiar with the different versions at all.

I'm thinking of using it as a grammar handbook for myself for planning out what to include in our studied dictations. This is for a very advanced 4th grader-I hope to use it for several years as a good solid resource.

Also, where can I see samples? thanks!

This is the one I would use. I'd suggest you find a TE and then match it with the student book.

The TE's are hard to find. Used book stores sometimes have them. Amazon sometimes has them, too. You can get the answer key at Seton's for 3rd and 4th book (9th/10th grades). The complete course is the senior level book, but if you cannot get the TE and you want it, this would be an option.

This page should give you ISBN's.

(Edit: Hm. URL didn't take. Type in English Composition and Grammar in the "Search For".)

There is a always discussion on whether one should buy an older edition or a newer edition. Some folks prefer the older books because they tend to be more rigorous. Some prefer the newer ones because they are more up to date in language usage.
