sixtimemomma
Does anyone know of a place (other than Ebay) to sell or buy gently used kids clothing?
Wyndie
Once upon a child is a fairly common one I have seen in a few states. You could probably google children consignment shops and your state to get a good list. :)
RJH
Craigslist for buying and selling, or freecycle to give and get for free. I do both. If the clothes/shoes are in new condition, I will try to sell them. But otherwise, I put them on freecycle.

fivetails
Yard sales & flea markets! They can be hit or miss, and it takes time ~ but if you want to find some gems and not pay the "extra" costs that a consignment shop (or an ebay seller) tack on for commission (or shipping), yard sales & flea markets are often the way to go. Watch the flea markets though - if the FM is the sort that charges vendors through the nose for table/ground space, they're gonna ask more for their stuff. Oh - and you know how they say 'early bird gets the worm'? Well, when it comes to yard sales & flea markets, the early birds may get some worms, but the bird who comes by at the last minute may get half the dang nest for very little coin cuz the seller really doesn't want to drag all that stuff back into their house. ;)
MeaganS
I second craigslist. All of my daughter's clothes came from there. Also, if you live in Utah, KSL classifieds is even more active than craigslist, so I highly recommend it.
Radish4ever
Another alternative might be consignment stores or sales like this: http://www.jbfsale.com/home/
