Mabeline
We have an outdoor storage box that we put a combination lock onto. We have lost the combination to it and now cannot get into the box. My kids' VBS has a campout at the end of the week and I am pretty sure our sleeping bags are in it. what would be the easiest way to remove the lock? And of course my husband is on deployment and I am on my own for this one. Any ideas? :bigear:
Brooke3193
bolt cutters--not sure where you'd find some. I used them a long time ago while working a summer job. They are easy to use.
happi duck
See if a custodian at your park district or local school would be willing to let you borrow the right tool. Another possibility is borrowing from a health club or other place that uses lockers. A tool rental place might also be an option. RegGuheert
If it is a Master Lock, like the ones they use in schools, they are pretty easy to crack. Google search for 'crack Master Lock combination' and you will get a bunch of links to instructions how to do this. Here is the first link from such a search. Basically, you can reduce the possible number of combinations to about 100 and then you try them until you open the lock. It's a great task for children! Our DS5 found a Master Lock on the side of the road in front of our house a couple of years ago. He was *very* excited about this and wanted to use it. So I did a search and found this method on the internet. It only took me about 30 minutes to crack the combination. Now we have a perfectly good lock AND the combination to it! Of course if it's not a Master Lock you probably need to use bolt cutters or a hacksaw. Good luck!
