Anyone use Memoria Press's Christian Studies?

Recommended Posts

I was browsing their catalog and came across these. I was thinking of using them w/ my 3rd grader. I'm wondering if it would be overkill use these along with MFW (which also has Bible lessons.)

He's not the best writer yet and we're already doing WWE, FLL, spelling & some Pathway Reader workbooks so I don't want to overwhelm him but they look good. If you use them, do you like them?

We do. We did Christian studies I last year, we will finish it off this year and start CS II. We are using SL bible this year too, so I plan on alternating weeks of them. The kids like Christian studies, and I like how it is presented chapter by chapter through the bible, but we are looking forward to using the books in sl core 100 bible as well. So alternating weeks seems like the best course of action.

When I first used them with my ds, I had them write their answers in the student workbooks, but they did not like doing that. When we got to the second book, I decided to do it orally, so after I the Bible story to them, I read each question, and my boys took turns answering the questions. It was much more interesting for them this way, and they enjoyed it a lot more. My dc were in grades 3 and 5 at the time.

If you do it this way, you only need the teacher book, not the student book.
