What to use after Winston Basic?

be using Winston Word Works and then Winston Advanced.

We started Winston in the 8th grade, a little later than most, but it was a perfect time for my son who could really absorb it all. We will be starting Winston Word Works this summer, and hope to begin the Advanced book at the beginning of our school year which starts mid-July to the beginning of August.

We plan for this to be our final grammar course, with a brush up before graduation, and a handbook throughout.

After Winston Basic (which we used with supplements), we used Winston Wordworks, and then the following year, Winston Advanced. We didn't care for the Wordworks as much -- it seemed a little different than the Basic and Advanced. Perhaps it is because Wordworks focuses on word usage (ex: when to use who vs. whom) rather than learning parts of speech, noun functions (Basic), and then how gerunds, participles, infinitives, phrases, and clauses are acting as nouns or are doing noun functions (Advanced).

We did do a few other things for grammar along with Winston Wordworks which we enjoyed a lot (listed below, with web links so you can "look inside"). BEST of luck, whatever you go with! Warmest regards, Lori D.
