Jolash
I got the dreaded e-mail today from Piedmont saying they won't be able to ship the Iowa test, but will have the CAT available instead. I remember taking the CAT in grade school and the description sounds like it's as good as the Iowa for what I want it for... just to be sure he's where he should be for a third grader. Any thoughts or opinions will be welcome!
Brindee
We've always done the ITBS, so I don't know anything about the CAT. Why was this dreaded? Why can't they ship it?
Erica in OR
Oregon requires official testing for third graders. The testing people that our homeschool co-op hired to come test our students for this and other levels used the CAT. Erica in OR

Jolash
We've always done the ITBS, so I don't know anything about the CAT. Why was this dreaded? Why can't they ship it? There is some dispute regarding some IL schools and Piedmont has lost it's license to admininster/service the ITBS test. The email I received talked about "an oversight" on Piedmont's part that caused the controversy but didn't go into great detail.
