  1. We have 2 dc, a 10 yo dd and an 8 yo ds. Been hsing since the start (whatever and whenever that was!). My dh farms, I'm support services. We use WTM with adjustments. Try to keep it classical but made to fit. Like using SOTW, Singapore Math, LfC and a lot of memory work. Both kids like music - one does piano, one violin. No homework.
  2. I agree with Lady Katherine - but - I'd like to be part of a critical mass that made a 3rd party candidate viable.
  3. I am almost 50 and my mother is 74. My husband is 53 and his mother is 86. My father was 22 when I was born. My huband's father was 47...
  4. Another holding at 49 here. Kids at 38 1/2 and 41 1/2. Hub even older. Our kids' friends' parents call me Miss Kelly rather than Kelly.
  5. Thank you Sheryl. You've cleared up some things for me. Bells
  6. I'm working toward 50 also - long way to go and the sell pile is growing... Bells
  7. The Primer and Answer Key are essential to the program. The DVD set is not necessary, but VERY nice as a change of pace for the student (and teacher). The Chant CD that comes with the DVD set is a nice way to review the vocab and grammar chants (with the new editions on the chant CD). For us, the Activity Book ended up being just busywork that we didn't really have time for anyway. We thought the Activity Book was going to be great (my son likes these kinds of things), but we quickly set it aside and continued without it. We've also used the history books and have enjoyed them. My 10 yo dd is about 3/4 through Level C and my 8 yo ds is midway in B. Both kids like this program and are lobbying me to buy Latin Alive for the next set. Bells
  8. Odyssey - and dropped them. Too time consuming & redundant. Drop. Bells
  9. pricey but full of teacher & student resources for all of the books in the series. We only got 2 books done this year - at this rate I won't scratch the surface of the TE. Btw, I have a science background and before PH, science was the subject I was most likely to scrap in a pinch. The PH are so well written that even in those crazy weeks we're usually able to plow through a chapter. Bells
  10. I've searched Sale/Swap boards, abebooks, amazon, alibris - all to no avail. Any ideas? Thanks, Bells
