We're still deciding what our MAIN curriculum will be- either MFW Adventures or HOD Beyond. I'm waiting until our curriculum fair in May where I can actually get my hands on Adventures and look at it. My daughter has had similar issues....what's worked for us is to make up some kind of memory device around which way the letters face (the lower case ones, that is). As in.... "b" is buddies with the other letters, so he always faces them (whereas d turns his back) or "p" is pals with the other letters, so she always faces them, etc.

This is pretty much how we operate as well. :)

We LOVE Positive Action's Bible curriculum.....very character-focused, memory verses, songs, straight from the Scripture.....can't say enough good about it! :) http://www.positiveaction.org

Hi ladies....I'm new to the boards here at WTM, though I've long been a fan. Here's a question which I'm sure has been done to death- I've read a few of the older threads here about it.....I'm waffling between doing MFW Adventures and Heart of Dakota's Beyond Little Hearts......does anyone have any experience or opinions regarding either? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer! :)

I just have to say- I'm not a big online/computer games person when it comes to my kiddos, but I swear by http://www.starfall.com as far as learning to read! They start with ABCs and go through all the phonics.....interactive games, interactive readers....it is AWESOME! Maybe have your little reluctant reader "play" with that for a bit....it's so much fun that it takes the pressure off, but they learn SO much! Good luck! :)
