  1. We're still deciding what our MAIN curriculum will be- either MFW Adventures or HOD Beyond. I'm waiting until our curriculum fair in May where I can actually get my hands on Adventures and look at it. Unless I have some other epiphany before then. :tongue_smilie: DD (1st grade) Main: MFW Adventures OR HOD Beyond Math: Math Mammoth 1 FLL Prima Latina Positive Action Bible 1 MFW 1st's Introduction to the Orchestra Probably some kind of gymnastics or swim class Also doing 1st grade at our local co-op DS (age 3) Mother's Day Out program 2 days from 9:30-2:00 Swim class Coloring, looking at books, tagging along DS (age 3) with autism Preschool/therapy 4 days a week, 3 hours per day Swim class Supplemental therapy once a week for 2 hours
  2. My daughter has had similar issues....what's worked for us is to make up some kind of memory device around which way the letters face (the lower case ones, that is). As in.... "b" is buddies with the other letters, so he always faces them (whereas d turns his back) or "p" is pals with the other letters, so she always faces them, etc.
  3. We LOVE Positive Action's Bible curriculum.....very character-focused, memory verses, songs, straight from the Scripture.....can't say enough good about it! :) http://www.positiveaction.org
  4. Hi ladies....I'm new to the boards here at WTM, though I've long been a fan. Here's a question which I'm sure has been done to death- I've read a few of the older threads here about it.....I'm waffling between doing MFW Adventures and Heart of Dakota's Beyond Little Hearts......does anyone have any experience or opinions regarding either? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer! :)
  5. I just have to say- I'm not a big online/computer games person when it comes to my kiddos, but I swear by http://www.starfall.com as far as learning to read! They start with ABCs and go through all the phonics.....interactive games, interactive readers....it is AWESOME! Maybe have your little reluctant reader "play" with that for a bit....it's so much fun that it takes the pressure off, but they learn SO much! Good luck! :)
