  1. Most language arts books such as CLE, BJU, and ABeka would have those kinds of exercises in them here and there, but for more concentrated work on a specific area, check Educator's Publishing Service at epsbooks.com. I've bought a few good ones that target certain skills I have wanted to work on more intensively. Hope you find what will work for you! Blessings,
  2. I liked having a dedicated space in the basement for school. We have a nice basement, finished and all, comfortable, but it's dark. I decided to come up to the south-facing dining room where I can get all the light I can handle. I find I'm not organized enough, though, now, with materials all over the place, but I'm happier. The light really does affect me positively. We read on the sofa together, or outside on a park bench in the yard when it's nice out.
  3. I thought it was pretty good, and better in my opinion than Vocab from Classical Roots in that it was a bit easier for my dc, but it's basically the same kind of thing as most vocab workbooks would be. I liked it, though. Book A, if I remember correctly, would be about a 7th grade level (but you better check for yourself on that). You might want to try and see if you can look at a sample online, maybe try CBD's site. Hope you find just what you are looking for! Blessings,
  4. ........I also like the old way better. It was a lot easier. There's a lot I'm going to skip, I'll just read the posts I feel I need and post when it seems right to, and not even think about how many posts I have or what my reputation is, or any of that. That stuff doesn't matter to me. The reason I'm on this site is to get help with my home schooling, and that's why I will continue, even though it's harder and more complicated now. Blessings to all,
  5. The whole thing is pretty confusing to me, and I wonder why all this is even necessary. I liked just posting and reading the posts on the old format. I guess there's more to this than I understand. I was wondering what those grey circles and green circles were all about, and the more I look into it, the more confusing it is :o, although I have figured a FEW things out. This new stuff seems to introduce a sort of competition or a comparison aspect into the mix, when on the old boards it was just the information going back and forth, and I liked that better. But I'm getting used to it, and talk about a learning curve, I don't know if I'll ever understand it. I'll just continue to read posts and post when necessary, and forget all the extra stuff, since I am not computer savvy, apparently not young enough to learn it quickly, and don't have the time to spend on it. :o But I have gained so much from people here, and I do appreciate everyone! Blessings,
  6. We love NH too, and Maine, and VT. Great for camping and just getting away. Jackson, NH is one of my favorite spots in New England. And, go Partiots by the way (although I am by no means a die-hard Pats fan;)).
  7. I just don't have that kind of time. But I wish I did! I can't even lurk as much as I'd like, never mind post. You know, recently I have found myself more in need of help than able to help others. I'm so thankful for the wisdom here.
