  1. There isn't just one AP Economics exam - there's macro and micro. There's this class which covers the material for AP Macroeconomics: http://economicsforhomeschoolers.blogspot.co.uk/ I've heard good things about the PA Homeschoolers AP class but unless your DD is interested in economics, I see no need to spend so much time on it. Her time may be better spent covering the personal finance course and maybe AP World History if you were looking for an AP class. You don't need to get an AP class syllabus approved unless you want to put "AP _____" on her transcript instead of "______ with AP exam" and her score next to it. It sounds like your daughter's going to have a fun few years but it may mean a little extra stress for you. ^_^
  2. I'm not sure what the programs in question cover but you may want to take a look at Code Academy which is free and online. It seems very good so far!
  3. Not too many prior to graduation. After a gap year where the primary activity will be volunteering, it'll be well over 1000.
  4. Gatsby is one of those books that really frustrates me. I've never got beyond the first chapter because I just couldn't bring myself to continue reading it. I finished 1984, but was really not as impressed as I wanted to be. I loved the idea behind it and it was recommended to me quite a few times and then I actually read it and was quite disappointed. At least I finished that one though.
  5. Thanks for this! I'll be self-educating with the book over the summer so this will be very helpful. :-)
  6. You may want to tell your daughter to reserve the last 30 seconds to go through and fill in any blank questions as the ACT doesn't have a penalty for wrong answers like the SAT does. :-)
