My whole family on my father's side suffers from insomnia, myself included. I am rarely operating on more than 4-5 hours of sleep. A lot of times I am going on 2-3 hours of sleep.
It's not something I would recommend to try to squeeze more out of a day. Your body needs rest for a reason and if you need more you should definitely honor your body's needs.

I personally think a 13 girl is too young to be forming romantic attachments and this opinion is irrespective of the boy's age or the boy's nationality or heritage.
I think the suggestions for either you or your husband to talk gently to the boy are good.

Whoops! Wrong thread.

"Remember when we talked about our dating rules?" I started out. "How you are only allowed to date girls your age or one year older?"
I'm curious about this. They cannot date a girl two years older? This is an honest question. My kids are younger so these issues haven't crossed our path yet.

Do you think the hs is causing the problems or do you think that even if you were to change the situation you would still be having these problems?
How do you know hs is the causative factor? Could there be any other underlying factors contributing to your health? Are you having any changes physically, hormonally or other health issues?
I don't know what kind of problems you are having because I don't remember specifically any complaining posts. But is it possible that sending the kids to school just gives you a different set of problems (i.e. trading one set of problems for another)?
What is the underlying issue? (edited to add, don't answer that, just think about it)

Quesadillas?
Tacos?
Chilaquiles?
Something easy you could do is just broil some steak and slice it. Put it into the warmed tortilla with cheese, lettuce and tomato.

Your mom sounds lonely. Does she have any hobbies? Is she healthy? Maybe you can encourage her to volunteer or join a hobby group?
<<hugs>> It must be hard having her call everyday. That would drive me nuts.

There was something going around where I live last fall that was like that but not whooping cough. I had a cough that lasted 12 weeks. My younger son got it but my older son did not and neither did my husband.
Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for your replies. I'm still considering what to do, but I think I will switch to the US version.

Anything narrated by Benjamin Soames. I love his voice and the kids like the stories.

If you are using year 1 (or have used) does it teach number bonds for addition and subtraction? We've spent so much time learning number bonds with My Pals are Here and I'm thinking of switching to the US edition for year 2 but don't want to learn another "method".
Is anyone else using My Pals are Here? Is it possible to purchase this series in the US?
I wish I could see the US edition in print, the sample pages I've found online are not enough visual aid for me.

I agree. Right now I don't see their Latin progressing by leaps and bounds so I have a little time before I start working ahead of them. We are using Prima Latina at the moment.I would suggest getting ahead of your children as you move to higher level books. -
I know of what you speak. February every year is the most difficult month for me. It's the hardest month of the winter because I know spring is so close. We've been having a lot of cabin fever and moodiness over here.

Wow to the 4yo runner! Amazing.
I don't run for fitness. That's a side benefit really. I like to run because I have really horrible insomnia and running is the one thing that helps.

Check out this site for some interesting algorithms.

Has anyone used this? I've been looking at it awhile. I do hate finding music to put on the mp3 player. I feel like running to songs I like ruins them for me. Does that make sense?

Here are the podcasts for the C25K. You can also find it in itunes.

I just came back from running! Phew!

I like this one. It says, "I can't go to school. I'm autodidactic."

Raise your hand if you do not require your dc to do copywork or dictation.
in K-8 Curriculum Board
Posted
Well, I did ask my 6yo to write a grocery list for me that I dictated while doing dishes. See if you can figure out what I was supposed to buy:
choklit
bandeed
cofy
colrd paapr
peeda bred
hotogs
kerats
cheez
egs
I guess the copy work that he has to do is the HWOT booklets. Otherwise we don't do separate copywork or dictation.
