  7. [quote name=and when my Timberdoodle catalog came and I saw these little workbooks' date=' I thought they'd be a fun, easy addition that my kids would enjoy. I plan to buy four workbooks at three different grade levels for my ds. http://www.timberdoodle.com/Daily_Geography_Grade_2_p/215-302.htm Are they an in-depth geography course? No, but I liked the samples (they offer various grade levels) and think it's worth a try for our little school. Blessings, Aimee mom to 6 great kids, ages 7-19, schooling grades 1, 3, 3 and 6[/quote] but at $22 a book, that is a lot of money for 3 kids...but I did like them...thanks...I will consider these.
  8. I feel like I need to be teaching my kids (ages 6, 8 and 10) basic geography and I was seriously considering Trail Guide...but the more I think about it, it seems like over kill to me...at least right now. I am looking for a fairly basic, simple, little teacher prep, series...I am considering both one book to teach all 3 kids or 3 different books for the 3 different ages...would prefer one book however. So PLEASE guide me and give me some ideas as to what my opions might be. THANKS!! Kathy

  10. wow...ok...now I sort of know what to expect as I am planning the curriculum...and I won't freak out quite so badly as the costs go up and up...UGH! It sure is a good thing that it is worth all of that money to educate our kids. THANKS ladies for your honesty on this one...I really appreciate it...talking money can be a sticky topic sometimes.
  11. Approx. and on average, what do you spend for each kid for school for a year?? I know some years are more than others...if you have high schoolers, that is probably more expensive too...I have 3 elementary students...and I am trying to decide if I end up spending about $100 per kid per year...is that good or not so good???
  12. I sure wish someone would answer this question...as we are wanting to start one in our area too.
  13. If you could order only one or 2 things from this company, what would it be? It all looks so cool, but having never actually seen the material (outside of the catalog), I can't decide what would be a good place to start...I have a 6, 8 and almost 10.
  14. I am nervous about if I order now, I will find something "better"...but on the other hand if I order later I might think I found something "better" and I will start second guessing my choices...so what do you do? I also NEED to order a couple of things NOW from RR and I am sort of of the mind set that I may as well order everything I would need...save on shipping...but.... can you tell I am sort of wishy washy?? What do you guys do...order when you are ready and not look back...or wait until closer to the fall to get things set up?
  15. What method do you use to make sure all your kids practice whatever instrument they play, long enough each day? I have 3 taking piano and one of those also taking accordian...and practicing as much as I would like them to is just not happening...any thoughts or suggestions??

  20. I did the demo and one of the features that I thought I would really like (the one where it shows the arrows for writing the stokes)...when I printed it...it was so cluttered that I know my son would have a fit with it. Did I do something wrong...have you used that feature? Please guide me. Thanks. Kathy
