It will make them tender. Next time you cook ribs and want them super tender, use this trick: Place them in a stock pot and cover them with water. Add a few cloves of garlic and a tbsp of liquid smoke. Bring it to a boil and let them boil for an hour to an hour and a half. Then take them out and place them in your roasting pan. Season them any way you like... for example, with salt and pepper or BBQ sauce. Put them in the oven on 350 for an hour and a half. You can do this with any kind of rib. My uncle owned a restaurant and this was his secret recipe for juicy, tender ribs.
