online book borrowing
Elsiegirls9 replied to mountains27's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Sounds great...it would certainly cut down on buying..but there would be so much that could go wrong...loose books, they get damaged by a child, etc... -
I love Mary Kay...have been using it for years.

Feeling down-- in need of prayers
Elsiegirls9 replied to llm's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Hello! I'm soo sorry you re feeling overwhelmed, discouraged, sad. I think a lot of us have BTDT. I find that putting on some good hymns help to lift my spirits and gets me out of my little moods. I also love serving others and a always looking for ways to share Gods love and grace. When we think of others and help them, it really helps to take our minds off our problems:-) Praying for you:) -
I need opinions please
Elsiegirls9 replied to RainbowSprinkles's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Same here, if she's acting like that, and you give in and let her go, that's only rewarding the bad behavior! She sounds like she needs a trip to the outhouse~KWIM Never reward the negative actions, only reward positive ones. -
BTDT as well. My last baby I was fine til time for delivery. My bp has always been around 20/70. Although I did put on a lot of extra weight with this one, not to mention my poor diet, I ended up just fine. It was still high after delivery and I had to spend 2 extra days in the hospital. I was 200/110. I think it was partly just because of stress at home and not much exercise. My dr was very worried about me, but after 2 extra days in the hospital, I said I'm going home! A week later I went in for a recheck and its been back to normal since then. All that to say be cautious, but don't stress!!! There are soo many factors that can raise our bp, and its usually nothing to worry about. Praying for you;)

We lost our baby quinea pigs
Elsiegirls9 replied to IrresistibleGrace's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Oh I'm sorry!!! Been there, done that and yes, it is hard when a sweet little piggy dies!!! We decided to get some hairless guinea pigs to breed and have as pets. There are several reputable breeders and they go for $100 on up. They are soo ugly~that they are BEAUTIFUL**** So we found a breeder about an hour away 2 Christmas's ago. He met us 1/2 way and OMSoul, they were irresistable! We bought 2 f and 1 male. Then, a few months later, e bought 3 more. Well, one had to go to ER VET, had a prolasped bowel,,,cost $150....but he was worth it. He ended up ok. Well, slowly they just died. All of them. We researched, did this/that, etc and never had babies nor any live. We were heart broken! We had them out daily, and they were pampered!!! so yes,,,,I feel your pain:confused: I think it would be just fine to get another. Id introduce them OUTside of the cage first. The mama should do just fine. I hope you have a blessed day,,,,I'm glad the mama is fine! OH BTW, if it was inbreed, then yes, that's NOT good, as well as often they lose their first set of babies..... :grouphug: -
Moms of many, Is this normal?
Elsiegirls9 replied to HappyDoopy's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Hello! I have 9 children, hs 8 of them (as1 is just 3). I have a schedule and the older ones definitely help to play and work with he younger ones! I do workboxes as well, but I rotate~doing 2 kids school at one, 2 others doing school and the others playing or keeping track of younger kids. So 4 kids schooling, me helping the younger w school, while 4 with the younger ones, chores, piano, trumpet, etc. We do this for about 1 hour, then rotate. I'm also blessed to have a husband who helps the older ones with Algebra, etc, and that is left for daddy in the afternoons when he gets home from work. Last year I had a mommys helper. She came 2 hours a day, and worked just with the younger kids, phonics and then entertained the preschool on down kids. This year we pay the older kids to help out more with the younger ones. You will find what works best for you. One thing that took me YEARS to learn,,,,,,its NOT about getting 3 R'S IN DAILY,,,BUT learning to love each other, love God and work and play together. When the love and right appetites are created, which IS done mainly by mama, then the kids learn the schooling much better!!! Its NOT about scholing asuch as its about having wholesome, loving relaionships with each other, and growing together in Gods wisdom and grace. I love Steven and Teri Maxwells resources, http://www.titus2.com as well as Doorposts! Keep press toward the mark! Don't give up and seek the Lord, only HE can direct your path -
Oh I have on. I was about 20, and went to a nw fitness center to check it out, as I was wanting to join one. Our twn has like 4 BiG ones, and several smaller ones. Well, they let you workout for 1 day, free ~ free trial. So I had a girlfriend with me, and we went down the the waking track, and all the free weighs, and mchines were in there. Lots of guys! So my friend and I decided to do the treadmills, which as right next to several guys doing free weights. Well oneguy walked passed me, and I turned to check him out, and fell right off the readmill!!. My knee was skinned and bleading! Talk about embarrassing!!. Needless to say, we left pretty quickly and didn't return!

How often do you go out of the house?
Elsiegirls9 replied to WyomingElizabeth's topic in General Education Discussion Board
We do school 4 days per week, which allows free time for outtings, deep cleaning, etc. I also find, when I'm out of the house, nothing, or very little, gets done. So I try to make appts, grocery shop, etc,,,on day 5. Also, on Monday,if all kids chores and a little extra, along with all school done, then Tues afternoon~we go down to the park. Then Wed, same thing, house super clean, school done, etc,,,,the Thurs afternoon, park time. That's a motivator for the kids as we usually stop and get a snack as well. But, park days,,,the chores and schooling done as well. We just do a little extra on the house on Mon and Wed. -

Does your husband answer his cell phone?
Elsiegirls9 replied to msjones's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Well almost always,,,,yes! Which means,at the dinner table, getting kids ready for bed, even walks out of church at times, to answer it. He works for a government agency, and HE thinks he needs to answer the phone~ALL the time!!! It drives me nuts! His job pays fo his Droid and Ipad and he is aLWAYS on them, playing games, reading the news or following sports. Id LOVE him to loose it! Hesalso the ype, in one of those RARE moments he leaves his phone at home, he will turn around to go get it, even if we are 30 min away from home........:-(
