  1. Thank you Candid. That is very good advice. Did you find that there were many questions that were not answered in the reading assignments or the teacher notes? I have heard this is a problem at the R level. This would be very frustrating for me. I really wish I had more confidence in myself and could just pick something and go with it. I'm so afraid of making the wrong choice and wasting my time and money. I daydream about what I would do if I had lots of money! ;) I think it would make this all a little easier :001_smile: Thank you again, Renee
  2. Thanks, OhElizabeth, for the encouragement. Yes, I would rather do that. Money is definitely a factor. I keep thinking that too.....my time is worth something! I did try to sell an almost complete Sonlight Core 400, but did not get one response. I even lowered the price three times. I don't have much luck selling things on this board. I don't really know what I do wrong. But you are right, I should keep trying to sell something. Thank you again for your help. Renee
  3. We really only have mine right now. I am hoping to get a newer desktop before school starts though.
  4. I can't get my picture to show up. It shows up on my page, but not when I post..... Not sure what I'm doing wrong
  5. Yes, please do! He really works well on his own. He just needs to know what to do and have the material. He is my "student" and makes my life easier :) One year I made a notebook for him with everything and had it spiral bound for him. He was in the D level then. This worked very well, until we got to unit 2, which I had not made a workbook for :glare: That is why I know I must plan it all before school starts. Not just for him, but for the others too. I guess it will just mean a lot of late nights for a few weeks. Please share your wisdom with me. Thanks! Renee
  6. Anyone done this? What are your thoughts? :bigear:
  7. Thank you Jennifer for your encouragement and questions. I really needed to bounce this off of someone. I think it's driving me crazy! Renee
  8. Have either of you used Notgrass with TOG? I wonder if someone has lined up the two. I'm going to go ask on the high school board :001_smile:
  9. Thank you both. I so appreciate the help and advice I get on this forum. I feel so frustrated right now, because I don't know which direction to go in. MFW sounds so much easier (for me! ;))........ Have you ever felt like beating your head against a wall? That's me right now. Why do I agonize about all of this so much? Argh!
  10. Hi, I would love some advice on Tapestry's Y2 Rhetoric level. Did your son/daughter find it interesting? I was going to use MFW for 10th grade next year, but am contemplating using TOG because I already own it. I just can't tell, by looking at the books, if it would be very interesting. The other levels look great, and we are using them. But I'm just not sure about the R level. I don't want to go through all that planning and work just to have my son find history to be a drudgery. Thanks! Renee
  11. I was referring to the HST + download version. I am not familiar with the online software.
  12. Have you tried HST + ? It's a great program if all you need it for is lesson plans/ assignments etc. And their customer service is really excellent. I am trying out the beta WPD also. It is a lot nicer to look at than HST :) But honestly, I don't know how they will compete with HST in the Lesson planning part of their program. Once you learn how to use it (HST), it can do just about anything you need it to. It's just not a planner you would use for everything else in your life. I think that is where the WPD's strength is. But for those who have learned and used HST, it will be hard to give up the versatility it offers for your homeschool planning. JMHO. Renee
  13. than the download version? The WPD online version is sooooo pretty! However, I have my doubts that the" homeschool tracking" part of it will be able to hold a candle to HST +. It would be so wonderful to have the best of both worlds :D Renee
  14. I was thinking of doing the same thing. What would be the difference between that and a Sonlight schedule that was all pre-printed? I've tried HST + every year. The thing that trips me up is staying on top of the printing of the schedule. I am just not disciplined enough to do this each weekend. I feel like if I had it printed up ahead of time, then more would get done. I'm still debating this though. I'd have to make 5 planners!
  15. I just got my login information and have been exploring their planner. I'm frustrated at the "little" things that aren't working. It looks like it will be grand when it is completed, but in the mean time I think the "bugs" could turn potential customers away. It might have been better to have a test group to work out all of those things before releasing it.
  16. I think they should be upfront about that before you buy it. Usually, when you order something online, it comes through right away. I did email them to let them know of my disappointment. It just seems a little.....dishonest. I guess I'll have to wait till Monday..... :)
  17. How does the WPD software compare to Homeschool tracker? I just ordered the beta version of WPD, but I cannot access it yet. I'm not sure why, since my payment went through. Anyone used both? Renee
  18. Wow! What a great resource! Thanks! :001_smile:
