  1. Thank you so much! I tried to get some help on facebook with this and not one person answered me  I love this board! :) So many people eager to help each other. Renee
  2. I'm making schedules for my kids in a word doc. but I don't know how to put a check box next to their assignments. I'm sure this is simple, but I can't figure it out. Could someone help me.......please? :001_smile: Thanks! Renee
  3. Thank you everyone:001_smile: So, you think WWS would not be enough? Would doing an IEW theme based book and WWS be too much wriitng?
  4. :grouphug: I completely understand......that's kind of where I live most of the time.
  5. I guess I just meant, will it (WWS) teach them how to make their writing interesting and polished? I've heard IEW is good at teaching kids how to "dress up" their writing. For some reason, it just intimidates me and it's a lot of money. I'm really looking for some reassurance from anyone who used it (beta tested it) that it's as good as IEW.....or hopefully...better! and that I don't have to worry.......:)
  6. I can't really afford IEW. Will WWS get me to the same place as IEW, or should I bite the bullet and buy it? I'm so afraid of doing the "wrong" thing..........
  7. I've been looking at the samples of this and really like what I see. I like that it is all written to the student and it includes the things mentioned in the WTM etc. (actually, I'm surprised more people don't seem to like it on these boards) Anyway, my question is this: How would I change it to include more of biblical history during that time? Has anyone done this? I'd love to hear your advice. Thanks, Renee
  8. That is so awesome! I'm so happy for you :001_smile:
  9. It's everywhere :( Does anyone know something that will help?
  10. This looks fantastic! Just what I'm looking for to use with my older kids! I want them to learn the rules and going through all the levels in AAS will take way too long! They know most of the phonograms and a lot of the rules because we have done a mish mash of WRTR for the past two years. I'd love for them to review it all and really cement them in their minds. In your opinion, would this work for a 5th, 6th and 9th grader? Obviously the words would be too easy for my ninth grader. That doesn't bother me. I just want him to get all the rules down. Do you think this would work? It looks like it is written to the student. I love that. Do you find that your daughter can work pretty independently? I've been looking for so long for a book like this! Thanks for sharing. I'd love to hear your experience with it. Renee
  11. Would this be too much? I really like the samples of WWS. I'm thinking of doing it with CTC. Is this doable?
  12. He did Critical Thinking Book 1 last year (8th grade). What would I need for a credit in Logic for 9th grade? Can he do the next book along with "Logic in 100 Minutes" and "Intro to Logic" by RC Sproul? Please don't laugh at me if this is totally off. I really have no idea what would constitute a credit. I looked at the one by Nance, but it is $100  I just cannot afford that. I'd really appreciate help in this area. Thank you so much! :001_smile: Renee
  13. Still don't know what to do! This is so hard! :001_smile:
  14. I really see the wisdom here..........thank you so much for taking the time to help and encourage me. So much more I want to say, but I'm typing with one hand while I'm nursing the baby :)
