I have some personal reasons to send kids to the public schools in Grades 6,7 and 8 ,so am very worried for their academics.Here currently they are using : Treasures student book with their Spelling,On level and Grammer workbooks. Scottforeman Writing and Grammer workbook Reading Real books and oral discussion Math Mammoth and Singapore Maths Daily Geography and Sheppardsoftware online Mcgraw Hill Science,Singapore Science and Easy Peasy Science Easy Peasy Computer and Health but which LA curriculum is strong for grade 7 and 8? LLATL ,TLP or GWG,WWW and SWS,Pathway Readers with its all workbooks?I need something literature based LA Program. and any good writing program..... For Maths MM or SM?(for AOPS I'm afraid as am a non mathy person)if one child wants to be an engineer in future. For Science which secular Series is recommended strongly for future Scientist in Grade 7 and 8 grades? please suggest me which curriculum should I choose for Middle school which will make their base strong for High school studies? Waiting for guidance....

Hi, I am outside States,and unable to buy IEW programs due to very very expensive shipping rates..... I'm planning on incorporating IEW program's styles and techniques into our school year this year. My ds, will be 10, has never had a formal writing program but guide them through writing process. I am teaching them to write a paragraph i.e one topic sentence-3 supporting details-clincher. When they finished writing,I guide then to go through their paragraph and substitute weaker verbs with stronger verbs,add a quality adjective and an adverb. .For which/who clause ,because clause/prepositional/adverb clause ,should these be used one per paragraph? or each sentence should start with any sentence opener? I need to take help in teaching them sentence openers which are taught in SWI-A Level.I think there are these clauses taught:Because clause,adverb clause and prepositional clause... What does this mean-Composition is double spaced? If anyone could describe me these sentence openers,that how to implement in writing with examples,I would be grateful.... Has anyone used like these with their child? Advice? Waiting for your guidance ..............

Hello friends, Though my ds is using Singapore Science ,but want to add more from Easy peasy homeschool and to start History curriculum of the same lady. It will cover Biology,Chemistry and physics for Science and Ancient history through the Middle ages.(replace American History with Canadian History).
