  1. If she's coming from a 3 year relationship and has only been single a week - I would encourage her to hang out as friends for a bit. Not to rush into dating (even though it may look the same).

  2. Me: my 4-year degree was forgiven with 4 years of work in the field after graduation. So me = free.

DH: 4 years at a private college (seminary type). He maxed out loans for 4 years undergrad and 1 year post grad. We are still paying it off (almost 20 years later).

Our kids: I have no clue. Highly unlikely to qualify for academic scholarships. Very little savings. We'll probably do 2 years living at home and going to CC.

    Literature

That's the main thing I see missing. (But you said she does have a booklist.) If she's finishing daily work too quickly, maybe expect output from her reading (informal book responses, journal entries, etc).

Maybe art and foreign language? (Even simple like Duolingo.)

My 7th grader has a lighter load. She regularly does history (with her sister), TT7, CLE Reading 7 + booklist, Essentials in Writing, and science (textbook, on her own). Less regularly: cursive, spelling, art. Weekly: outsourced PE.

  4. I buy the Pore Reducing Toner and the Skin Calming Toner from Paula's Choice. I also buy the Clear 2%.

With my last order I got samples of the Unscrub (wash) and I really liked it...but I already like my current wash (which is cheaper) so I won't switch. I also bought a travel size of the Clear Oil-Free Moisturizer (which is new) and really liked it, but it felt close enough to my trusty CeraVe PM that I'll resist the temptation of switching...

Tragic - I found one at the Goodwill - upholstered in beige - perfect !!! $10. Paid for it. It would not fit in my car. Not my dd's either. It is pouring rain for the next 8 days so a pick up truck is not going to work. I guess I will have to leave it there for someone else to buy. So angry.

We have a four poster bed in our master. Otherwise no one else has a head board. - see why I wanted that!

I'd totally cut up trash bags to make a tarp and strap that big boy to the top of my car!  You can do it!

  6. I'd never heard of Isn't it Romantic. Looks cute!

Youngest DD and I are home alone and Redboxing through this rainy weekend. So far: The Grinch and Goosebumps 2.

My girls cannot wait to see How to Train Your Dragon 3. They are huuuuge fans of the series.

That isn’t ringing a bell with me as a scripture——what scripture is it?  I can usually figure out what scripture someone is referring to even if it’s a different translation, but that one isn’t ringing a bell.

Nor I but apparently it's certain translations of 1 Cor. 7:36. It's never been a phrase/idea taught my faith.

Off on a tangent here, but the other night as my husband and I were leaving our condo, we noticed a distraught young resident behind the receptionist’s desk. She was kneeling down, crying and screaming. We went over to see if she needed help and it turned out her dog was choking and had stopped breathing. The owner was trying to remove what was in the throat but couldn’t. So I gave the dog the Heimlich Maneuver and thankfully he chucked up the thing that was stuck! So if you have a pet, might want to learn what to do and do what you can to possibly prevent it from happening.

When DH and I were dating, we brought some steak dinner leftovers home for his dog. The dog choked on a hunk of meat and passed right out on his side.  DH pumped on the dog's chest a bit until it dislodged whatever it was. The dog stood up and started sniffing around for the (already eaten) steak. It scared the bejeezus out of dh!

As far as the poll: I don't think it's common knowledge UNLESS you are familiar with rescues or have been looking into adopting a pet. It's always been made very clear to us from rescues we've had contact with.

Exactly.  I am now in the watch and wait zone to see if they have to do more.  It sucks.  And I have major dental anxiety, too.  Bad experiences as a child but this dentist is really good with it and works with me.

The same for me. Bad childhood experiences but a decent dentist now...though I still get anxious.

Hope you find some relief and it's easily resolved.

  10. I hear you. I had a filling done in a molar last Monday, and the tooth has been hurting ever since. (Sharp stabby pain.) We've been "waiting and seeing" but I have a feeling that it's going to be a re-do. Boo!

(I have major dental anxiety, too, so I didn't want to go in the first place. Going back 2-3x to fix this has got me in knots!)

  11. The set really helped my 5th grader who somehow forgot all her math facts over the summer. We needed something to help her her back on track and help with confidence.  Oldest DD used Mastering Essential Math Skills but this DD really needed things broke down a bit more. The beginning of the program really helped review and soldify her math facts. She liked the way the lesson was written - very conversational.  We only went through book 1, though, returning to our previous program (she was just ready).

  12. We'll be out of house for most of the day, so I made mini molten lava cakes and chocolate covered strawberries tonight and put them in the fridge for dinner tomorrow. And I'll put a roast in the crockpot before we leave in the morning. That should give me a nice dinner with minimal V-Day effort.

  13. The female gymnasts (that I've seen on tv) totally have cheeky suits (intentional or not, idk).  Which is interesting because many of them are quite young.

The part about small suits = being able to see the body's lines and such...that doesn't ring true to me. You could wear form fitting leggings and still see leg placement and angles and such.
