This is what we did, I made my child have to purchase a new bag of candy, even if he just took one piece. He's had to replace an entire case of pop, because he took just one can. Financially, it hurt him because he wanted a toy and he almost had the money saved up.

ooh, I like that idea!
LOL :iagree:

Today, I reached a weight loss of 57 pounds.
And yes, there are more washroom breaks now, then I had before. That being said, they are also easier (ok, looser).
I feel awesome!

They've updated their web page.
Has anyone heard anything yet?
-
Not that we know of yet.

I like my comb. I use it to create Saxon notebooks for my two kids. I printed out the two blank worksheets and bind them along with an Investigation page into booklets of 10 lessons. Then when the kids are done one of my booklets I assign the tests for the section. I then hand them the next booklet and I copy over the scores of everything into my master sheets. When they are done one booklet, I re-use the spine on the next booklet and then just staple the sheets together and toss into the box for the year. Very low cost, since I'm reusing the spines frequently.

I'm waiting too!
I'm waiting also. I jump between checking my spam, FB, this forum to see if anyone has been emailed yet, then back to my inbox. Yikes, I need to get a hold of myself! :001_huh: Oh, and I check twitter every once in awhile for some reason too! :001_smile:

 And after reading all of the door-to-door meat stories here I *wish* one of them would show up at my door. Unfortunately (fortunately!) I don't think we have those in Canada.
Hey Sarah, They are in Canada also. We have a local fish farm, they have a tank on the back of the truck with live fish in it. I don't buy from them. I've heard that they select the fish and kill it, remove the head wrap it up and sell it by the pound. Atleast, you would know when it died, since they killed it right in front of you!
I will not clean a fish. Period. So, I have to buy mine all prettied up from the grocery store.

Dear Amy,
I'll pick you, if you pick me.
Love, your bff well-planned day stalker chick :D
LOL, Hey Heather, I hope you are writing to me... but there are two Amy's on this thread! LOL I'll be sharing the love on the hive also, just hoping I get picked too! Maybe I should have told them I've been a beta tester for other products. shoot!

Can grandma see a window at your house? We had a neighbor growing up who would put a green sheet of paper up in the window so the neighbor kids knew that it was ok to come and visit.
-
Sigh. Nothing.
Do they know we're dying over here??? ;)
They know... they're just toying with us....:D

I use a couple of different programs for the kids I use http://www.symbaloo.com/ which I set as their homepage on their desktops.
This is the link to the desktop my kids see each day part of the buttons don't show up in the picture. http://www.symbaloo.com/mix/hopeacadamy
I also use symbaloo for myself. I created a bunch of pages. 1. with links I need for my blog. 2. Link for finding coupons online and the coupon match up blogs I follow. 3. Weather, agriculture stuff my husband calls from the field and asks me to look things up for him frequently. 4. Places I like to visit on occasion online.
I also have a Pinterest board which I use for homeschooling ideas that I've found online.

Fill the kitchen sink up with just hot water and a big squirt of soap. Fill it up with dishes and then go lay down. Leave it for a while to soak. When you come back the dishes will be almost clean, just by soaking. Wash them quick and set to dry by themselves. Drain the wash water, and do again. Taking time to lay down between loads. Then as soon as possible, convert to paper plates and plastic ware.
Can you put some paper towels in the bathroom to help keep laundry down? Take time to figure how much Tylenol you have and make sure there is enough for you and your children to last a few days. No use running out during the night.
When a friend had mono her mom had a hard time getting her to eat. They ended up buying some protein shakes because the smell of meat made her sick. Try to keep an eye on what you and the girls are eating, no empty calories, try to make sure you are hitting all the food groups everyday.
I'm praying for all of you.

My kids plug in 20 minutes of practice, six days a week. We use Mavis Beacon. My ds11 has large and fine motor delays, so getting him typing everything on the computer and away from pencil and pen is a high priority.
I can barely read his actual printing, and at times he can't read it either which makes it very difficult for him to do L.A. and write stories.
-
I suspect I will not get much done this week. Unless, I tear myself away from this computer!
We have nothing planned tomorrow and Saturday, so I was really hoping on learning if I was selected so I could take one of those days and learn the program and get everything set up before next week.
It's fun being excited about something isn't it!

Hey Heather, Hey Curly! :seeya:
I'm glad to know that I'm in good company! So, when does Nashville, wake up????? I hope they don't wait until later today, I'll drive myself and the kids nuts watching and waiting!

Is there a specific order for the elementary Apologia Science textbooks? Or can I pick and chose to go along with the kids interests?
Also, (ok, there are no stupid questions) when do I need to start the H.S. Apologia textbooks? In grade 7 to finish them all by grade 12 or can it be done from grade 9 - 12?
-
All else aside, it's a bit funny that they do not realize how contradictory this statement is.
 Yeah, really!
-
That story is wonderful!

I swear, I feel like a stalker.

"The ruling party has called for an election and by so doing, the legislative session is officially ended; therefore the government’s attempt to take over all education in Alberta was defeated for lack of a vote." quoted from article.
But this can, and most likely will come back again.

Everyday, I go to the website, obsessive I know! I would love to be a tester of the product. I'm hoping someone will pick me from this forum if the company doesn't pick me! I'm so excited!!!
My daughter called. She's engaged.

Congrats! I have a suspicion that I'm about a year behind you. Looking forward to the advice given here.
