  1. We are Christmas freaks. We love the folly holly jolliness and we are the cheesiest people on the planet. You could wrap up underpants in Christmas paper and my kids would jump up and down. From the day after Halloween we are basically crazy. It's NOT just the presents. I can't even explain it.

I always felt bad for poor scrooge. He just needed a hug.

My kids get more excited to give stuff to other people I swear. We go shopping one day JUST for donating things. The local grocer gave me a good discount for ordering cases of food. I love them. We always find a few families in need and give them a Christmas box. This year I collected dollar bills here and there, then filled a shoe box up to give to their kids. I've been doing this for years, it is SO fun. The kids always flip out and the parents tell me they sit there for hours separating it. I get a lot of joy out of giving people things. My mother says I have always been that way since I was a kid.

And I love booze in eggnog. More like booze with a splash of eggnog. Maybe because I don't like eggnog but it doesn't seem like Christmas without it. And fried finger food, that's our traditional feast. My kids are hoping for snow. So far there is an itty bitty bit.

  2. We did, but I ended up in the hospital with a bacterial infection. It was horrible. They dairy moved their cows south and then the HFS didn't send me the recal of one batch that was tested from the new dairy. It was an awful ordeal all around.

I an buy vat pasturized milk and it is delicious. I also used to get fresh goat milk from Oberhaslis but I'm a bit too far now. I would love a cow or goat in my backyard

But I am NOT for governing what we cannot consume. It's our business, and should be our fault should something happen.

  3. The Clinique products are WAY too harsh for me. I can't even look at it before my skin peels off of my face. Witch hazel is also a no-go for me. Plus, my skin is really, really dry....until it isn't, and then it's very oily. I hate it. Right now it's dry and flaky.

I haven't heard of Gloves in a Bottle. I'll look it up. Thanks!

Clinique is horrible. And one of the firt ingredients in the toner is alcohol.

They are NOT cheap by any stretch, but I use Bobbi Brown cosmetics. The EXTRA line of eye cream, balm, and serum

I have the most sensitive prone to breaking out skin on the planet

  4. The most important thing is getting a "hand raised" bird. Otherwise it will never* be tame and will spend its life caged. And won't be hand friendly.

Cockatiels are common starter birds. They are easy to care for. One potential downside is they are quite "dusty," producing a copious amount of dander to which some people are sensitive. While tame ones like their heads rubbed, they tend not to have huge personalities (which you may or may not consider a positive). They are relatively quite and sturdy.

Another option is a Peach Faced Lovebird. While these are small they tend to have huge personalities. If your taste in pets runs towards more active exuberant ones, a Lovebird is usually more entertaining and engaging. They are also much cleaner in regards to dander.

Whatever you do look for a "finger-friendly" hand raised bird.

    Best wishes,

    Bill

i was going to say a hand fed and raised bird is the way to go.

It depends on what you want from a bird. And of course how much you can spend. Some parrots make fantastic pets because they become literally a member of your family. They can follow you everywhere and even be harness trained to go out. I have a teeny baby Eclectus being hand raised right now. Those are hypoallergenic in that they do not produce a dander. But they are around $1500

  5. I wasn't expecting humor/kilts, etc.

Really, the fact that a very celebrated author writes about young people killing young people for our reading pleasure, and then this horrible mass murder of mostly children happens in her own hometown and no one thinks there's anything worth discussing?

I'm sorry, but driving through CT once isn't exactly the same to me as someone writing books about kids killing other kids.

See this is how it works. Someone posts something ridiculous, and then in an attempt to shield them from public humiliation some nice gals form a club and try to change the subject.

Ok you really want to talk about it. Gee I don't really know what to add.

And I really am just joking about the first line (sort of).
