I love this idea ... :)

I found some Amelia Bedelia books for dd to try.... she doesn't get any of the play on words though:lol: They seem easy for her to zip through ... give her more confidence with reading on her own;) Thanks to whoever suggested it!
Well...our library is really small and doesn't have a great selection. I was looking for some science books for the kiddos and the librarian came to chat and told me to bring a list of what books I need and she'd get them for me if they didn't own them!!!!:D I'm now in love with my library:lol:
-
bummed out about this as well,,,,
-
There are not any student books. You use a teacher edition and the student follows along. It is a good program and is easily shared among siblings.
:iagree:

OK ... I've heard a lot about these books but am not sure if I should try them ... does this girl have an attitude problem:confused: ... assuming that's why she's called moody???:tongue_smilie:
I ordered a few simple chapter books for dd (she's loving 'Chocolate Factory'...not interested in 'The Littles'). I don't want to buy any book that would encourage an attitude . Can anyone tell me about this book series:bigear:
TIA

found a tackle box around the house ... I only put the amount I need and put the rest in a ziploc bag ... ahhh now I don't have to see math-u-see everywhere:lol:
-
Ohhhh I love Satori's box....I'll be keeping my eye out next time I go shopping...you don't happen to know where she bought it from???
-
Oh and my youngest is crawling and cruising so I'm really worried she'll choke on one ... I'm going to put them up and away but would love them to be organized as well... I'm a nut like that:lol:
-
I need ideas for storing the blocks!!! They are all over the place thanks to my munchkins and it's driving me nuts ... I would like some organizing system that separates the hundreds, tens and units. Any suggestions?:bigear:
-
Anyone else get their hs'ing things and then think ... wow.... I got a WHOLE LOT of organizing to do... I don't even know where to begin:001_huh::tongue_smilie:

kids height it is:) Thanks for your opinions ... now off to harass hubby to put it up:lol:;)
-
OK ... I guess I'll mount it at her height and see how it goes ... I guess I could always take it down for lessons if need be ... thanks ladies!
-
Should I mount the big one at my height ... and use a table size one for her? Should I mount it low and just teach near the floor (I'm 5'11'' ... no chance she would reach it at my height:lol:)?
-
OK don't:lol:... I bought the magnetic board to use with aas and want to mount it today ... need opinons ... should I mount it at kid height or my height?:tongue_smilie:

Mike Mulligan is a hit here but too advanced for him to read. We also have the Farmyard book with a read a loud cd ... both kids love this book.
The John Deere book looks cute!!! Thanks for the suggestion. I have a bunch of Bob books but ds finds them a little dull ... I want him to enjoy reading .... there must be more beginner books geared towards boys that I just don't know about .... can anyone else point me in the right direction:bigear:

My little guy is just starting to read (can read basic cvc words & sight words)... I'm getting his older sister a bunch of books and want to get him a few as a present as well. He's obsessed with trucks, diggers, cars etc... Do any of you know of any beginner books with this theme?
TIA:)

Sorry - that was Sonlight. Also Veritas Press has good lit recommendations.
Sounds like you made good choices!
Thanks... I hope so:)

I loved the Romona books when I was that age.

I also read Hedi and Anne of Green Gables around that age. I love Anne of Green Gables so much that I regularly read it still.
DD loves Heidi...we have Anne of Green Gables. I haven't showed her it yet (I thought I would introduce it when she got older...hmmm maybe she'd enjoy it)

Just checked out Milly Molly Mandy....looks nice ... thanks for all the suggestions everyone:001_smile:

I ended up ordering charlie's chocolate factory, the littles and the courage of sarah noble... I think I'll pop by the library again this week and see if they have any decent beginner chapter books but I highly doubt it.
One last question...any one familiar with the 'misty series ...by Marguerite Henry'??? DD loves horses and I'm thinking of getting a few but want opinons first:tongue_smilie:
-
