Not worth it here. My kids did not like the DVD. We use Xtra math and old fashioned flash cards.

Thanks for the information, all these sound good. It is just hard to narrow down all the differing opinions! What about paleo, primal, LCHF, etc?

If anyone has a good recommendation I would really appreciate it. I have PCOS and just recently had my insulin tested and found it is high so I think it is time to make some dietary changes. I do understand that I need to eat lower carb, more vegetables, etc. but I would love to have a good book of recipes to help me make these changes.
Thanks for any input!!

That is great to have that in a relationship after so many years, what a great example to your children.

We live in South America and do not have one. I don't know anybody here that does. We even saw a very nice upscale apartment with an amazing kitchen and it did not have a dishwasher. What I was told is that the water pressure is not high enough to run one. I do miss having one though!

The Middle Ages book by Dorothy Mills/Memoria Press? I am wanting to use both but wondered if anyone already has a schedule for this? This would be for 7th grade.
Thanks!

We are trying to do this from another country so we aren't even working with a realtor yet. I think we might have to go with the online option for now. We do have a US bank account but it is with a major bank, nothing local.

This is not our first time to purchase a house, but it has been a while and I can't remember what the best way is to go about choosing a lender?
Any suggestions or advice would be great!!
Also, if we don't really want to close until February or March, is it too early to even be looking?
Thanks!

My 7 year old is still wet every night. His ped said they don't typically worry about it until age 8. My older son was also wet every night until he was 5. He then has his adenoids removed for other reasons and was never wet again! A very nice side effect.

I don't know how much they cost, but you can also buy doll wigs online (not AG) and replace the old one yourself. There are youtube videos on how to do this.

Thanks for sharing! Do you happen to know if it is just Level 1?

Funny that you tagged the thread with Ryan Gosling!!

I use The Elements along with Chem 101 and Fizz, Bubble, Splash (or something like that...I'm too lazy to go get the book, lol). I use the Chem 101 DVDs for intro (which we are absolutely loving!), then comes The Elements chapter followed by experiments from the third book. This should take us one semester to go through if I have it planned out right. We do science 4 days per week for about an hour per day.
Would you mind linking or telling me more about the Chem 101 DVDs? Those sound great!

Some states will allow a PT to do an evaluation without a Dr's orders. They do then have to to get orders for continued treatment. You can check to see if your state allows this. I am a PT and I would recommend getting your child evaluated. Sometimes they just outgrow the toe walking, other times it does indicate a more significant issue. The fact that she can stand flat footed at all sounds encouraging, because often a kid can be so tight that they are not even able to put their heel on the ground.

Thank you all! So many great ideas and books. We will have a lot of fun with these!

Ok, maybe I will go with Tort Law and see what he thinks. Looking at it online I think he will either love it or I will scare him away from Law forever! :)

crazyforlatin- if I get him a Criminal Law book, are there going to be details of cases in there that may be too graphic for a 12 year old? He is not sensitive at all but I don't want to give him nightmares either!

Fiona- He would LOVE that! It will have to wait until we are back in the US, but he will definitely want to check into that. Thanks for the idea.

Your son could listen to the oral arguments found here, http://www.supremecourt.gov/oral_arguments/argument_audio.asp or read the slip opinions found here, http://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/slipopinions.aspx.
If you can find an older edition of a Torts or Criminal Law book, those cases are more interesting than most fictional books.
Do you mean something like this book?

He has been reading the ones written by Randy Singer. They do have Christian content if that is an issue. I like them because they are similar to John Grisham books but more suitable for a 12 year old. Actually, I can't remember if John Grisham's regular books are ok for a 12 year old... are they??

I knew there had to be lots of cool things out there! Thank you all so much, off to check these out!!

Do you know what specifically I would ask for the adrenal tests? I have to go into a lab on my own and ask for these, so I have to know specific test names and figure out what they are in Spanish. Thus the reason I asked for total T3 and T4 when I should have asked for Free instead.
Thanks for the recommendations.
How does one feed the family decent food without breaking the bank?!?!
