  1. My husband took part in Civil Air Patrol growing up. He got to experience so many amazing things...survival training, physical challenges, search and rescue, teamwork, and obviously loads of aviation...etc. He looks back on it as one of the best times in his life. He also feels that it made him a better man...He is a wonderful man by the way, although I may be a little bias. :)

  2. When I was young I would sit at my mom's vanity area. I would just touch everything! The makeup, jewelry, accessories of any kind. It made me feel grown up, pretty, and important. I never wanted her to catch me, I didn't want to get in trouble or worse...be embarrassed. I would just simply take some time to go through your little treasure box with your kids. Maybe give your children a special box of their own..for their own little treasures.

  3. It must be a bad week for stoneware! The same just happened to my Mom's stoneware baking sheet! Her husband did the same thing and then dropped it. She was so stunned that after ten years of using it 3-5 times a week and talking about how it is never to go into the dishwasher and to be handled with care. She is devastated and pretty angry at his lapse. It was a luxury for her too. But I agree with King M. Get another one as soon as possible.

  4. I think there is nothing wrong with a little brow upkeep at this age, like other posters I remember time in my mom's lap...as she.... as gently as she could... tweezed my brows. :crying: (it was a little paingful at first) Only from the bottom and using some basic guidelines. I still have pretty thick brows, but they are under control and I like that they are more Audrey Hepburn instead of Greta Garbo!

  5. I haven't read all the previous posts....this may have been said before, but I would ask your HOA why they are not allowing something that is an eco-friendly option to drying clothes. "Going Green" is everywhere and I think that not having an alternative is very odd (especially with those archaic views of line-drying). I have an indoor line that my DH made, we use it great deal and I also use my dryer, we don't have the outside space for a line, but if we did I would certainly use that option.
