Have you read through the samples of Enns' curriculum?? Even if some don't like his theology, is that really justification for claiming he is dangerous and not Christian? This seems like a witch hunt to me.

Reporting something factual, live as it is happening, is not gossip. Unfortunately many of the news media outlets put their own spin on things these days, which means that what they "report" probably is. :)

LOL! Just read it, and yeah, it was a rant, but a good one! It bugs me that SWB is taking a lot of heat over this, when she didn't run the conference or choose to banish anybody. What bugs me more, though is how people are taking statements from Enns totally out of context and then using them to question his Christianity.

I buy my jeans from Victoria's Secret and Ann Taylor (sometimes Ann Taylor Loft). I am tall, and jeans with a 35-36 inch inseam are hard to find, but jeans from these sellers are usually fashion-forward, and their sales keep them from breaking my bank.

We have two large state conferences here in Illinois-- I feel comfortable at neither of them. It really irritates me that the organizers of state conferences want to limit my choices in speakers and curricula. For anyone interested, I blogged about this exact topic today.

Jen, I think it's sad that state conventions are doing this-- WHY must homeschoolers "shun" others?? Are charter schools really all that evil? REALLY?!?!?!?!? Ugh. When I first got involved with the Illinois Homeschool PAC, I was told that some homeschool organizations eat their young. I thought it was just a joke, but I am learning how sadly true it really is.

Dear Susan, I had admired you from afar before attending the Memphis conference, and once I had heard you speak, and met you in real life, I admired and respected you even more. I love your advocacy of homeschooling. I love the sense of empowerment you give to homeschooling moms through your materials (that make homeschooling so much easier) and through your encouraging words. I also love the example you set. People often have a certain stereo type of homeschooling women, but you don't fit into any of their molds. You homeschool, you work, you run a business, you are a pastor's wife-- all rolled up into one great package. I LOVE that!! But you also set an example of Christian love and kindness. I have seen how you have responded to people with regard to the latest brouhaha. Your words have been mischaracterized and misquoted this way and that. Nonetheless, you have said nothing uncharitable about the nay-sayers, even those who have been less than charitable toward you. Finally, you are very patient with those of us who massacre Latin. Thank you for that. I speak English and Legalese. My Latin will come along eventually. I hope your writing day was productive-- I can't wait to read what you will present to us next.
