  1. Teaching Textbooks is a full math curriculum, but make sure to give a placement test. I've read that the Fractions and Decimals books from Life of fred are supplementary, but we haven't used them...yet! My plan is to use our math curriculum (BJU) 4 days a week and LoF on Fridays.
  2. I love Timberdoodle! They have great science and educational toys. Do you know how long this lasts?
  3. Hmmm, now you've got me curious and I have to go look!
  4. I totally agree with the 1st two replies. It took my daughter until she was 1o years old for writing not to hurt, but now she always carries a pencil and notebook with her!
  5. Would just a writing handbook like the ones from Write Source work?
  6. We have used and loved it. Honestly, as time went by, we only used the activity sheets and not the binder. The new activity sheets have the review questions and scripture references right on them. The beginner sheets do not have map and timeline info on them, but the others do. We have the big timeline and maps, but honestly, you could get by just fine w/o them.
  7. Hearts and Hands has wonderful history kits. One of them is Ancient Far East!
  8. I only use the student pages although I have it all. The middle ages student pages have the map and timeline activities on them. I LOVE the program!
  9. Has anyone used this book? Can you give me your thoughts on it? Is there a website somewhere that people share the menus they have already made? Here's a link to the book in case you have no idea what I'm talking about.:D http://www.amazon.com/Writing-Menu-Ensuring-Success-Student/dp/0929895339 I can see my daughter really loving this, but coming up with menus seems very overwhelming. Thanks, Jennifer
  10. I'm bumping this up because I'd love to hear some more ideas. We just had to do a complete system recovery so this time i'd like to save my bookmarks somewhere online. I don't want them lost again!
  11. We used the ancient Egypt kit several years ago and it has by far been the favorite thing we have done in our 6 years of homeschooling. I highly recommend them!
  12. I'm wanting to buy this. I love the samples online, but I can get the earlier editions much cheaper. Can anyone tell me the differences between them...or thoughts on the program in General? Thanks! Jennifer Diane Waring- Ancient Civilizations and the Bible
  13. This week (3-15-11) homeschool freebies is giving away a huge (over 900 pages) book download called The Big Handbook of Nature Study. Here's a link. http://www.homeschoolfreebie.wholesomechildhood.com/ I hope something in there is helpful to you!
