It doesn't look like many Americans cared tho(should I even be surprised)? Most voted:
Who cares? And, in a related question, does anyone know what a rampart is?

Maybe I'm a purist, but I can't stand when artists try to make the National Anthem their own. I don't care it if sounds the same every time I hear it. It's meant to. It's beautiful just the way it was written.
:iagree:I feel the same way about Christmas songs:lol:

no. The couples we are friends with usually consist of two normal people.

It was negative. We're relieved on one hand, but still disappointed on the other. Don't know if that makes sense or not.
This totally makes sense! I go thru this all the time when I seem to be late. :grouphug:

THANK YOU!!!

Nope - because I've never even thought of it as a shortened version of William.

I'm so sorry:(:( We lost our lab several years ago and he was my DH's dog as well. It leaves such a big hole in your heat. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. :grouphug::grouphug:

:grouphug: There are very few ppl I trust with my kids and altho I am Christian, I don't trust men in the church. If anything-beware of a good percentage! I learned this the hard way:001_huh:

We dropped Singapore and switched-I just found it ridiculous. JMHO.

Never. I don't even think the workbook is necessary until at least 2nd to 3rd grade. I bought A for my son who is in 1st and what a waste. It's completely redundant with the other subjects he does. Plus he can't read yet. My DD does level C for third grade and loves it.

Forget the jargon and technical terms-they aren't going to teach you anything at this point. I highly suggest you join Clickn Moms. You will not find better information anywhere-from learning manual (the point to having a DSLR), what camera would be best for you to start with (The photos the camera produces are only as good as your skills. So going super expensive isn't going to mean you get better photos), to what lenses to buy (don't buy a "kit") ), how to edit and much, much more. I suggest joining for at least 6 months-it's $30. Or if you want to try it out for 1 month it's only $8. Yes, there is plenty of free info on the web-but it's not like what you will find at CM. Trust me-you won't be sorry.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this program! We use A with DS (1st grade). I like that you can buy the TM, but download the worksheets. We also use C with DD (3rd grade). We switched from WWE. I like that WS is "creative". This really got my DD excited about writing as she loves to make up stories.

I feel like a broken record since I post this every time someone has HOD placement questions:lol: Your best bet if you decide to go ahead with HOD is to call them directly for placement questions. And def. join the forum if you have more questions. The writers sister uses HOD and is very knowledgeable. I place my children using the chart which is only a guideline-I'm a complete newbie to H'schooling and had no idea. I also had a really hard time with the program because I found it very scripted. It was hard for me to use it w/o sounding like a robot:tongue_smilie:I also tried doing 2 programs at once which was difficult for me as it's hard for me to teach two children at once or split up the day. My children are lower elementary and are not able to work independently on most subjects.
The things I like best about HOD were: DITHOR, History and the optional read-alouds. They really do pick wonderful books!

Yes. My DD reads them in Advantage Grammar and has to make corrections.

I want one:001_smile:

Well.............................don't we get to see some pictures?:001_smile:

Who knew there was more than one Groundhog? Now how do they reconcile that if the groundhogs don't do the same thing?
-
He's canceled! No Groundhog day tmw:glare:

No Groundhog day this year:glare: I just posted here.

Catherine Levison has written some wonderful books about the CM method. They are SUPER easy reads and short books.

Storm Team 4: Groundhog Day Canceled
Quote:
"What may be the biggest winter storm in at least 11 years in Milwaukee has guaranteed that the city's groundhog won't see his shadow, because he won't see the sun, at least in a public setting.
The Groundhog Club of the Milwaukee Area has canceled the area's 103rd Annual Groundhog Day Celebration."
What will we do?:tongue_smilie:

No, this isn't saying that Martin Luther was a curmudgeon or a homos@xual or had a hankering for gambling. This is pointing how he dedicated an entire book preaching extreme anti-Semitism.
:svengo:Well, let's hope he was crazy!
Ok I give up, I am flinging WWE out the window

We tossed it too for my 1st and 3rd grader. Sometimes things don't work and won't work even if you change the method in which you teach them.
