No, this is an adult board, although my oldest reads over my shoulder at times.

My kids go trick or treating and we carve pumpkins. Thats all we do for halloween.

I've used both. Queen's is a workbook, Serl's is not. Serl's is older, but still good, and its not archaic. I wouldn't say either one is overtly Christian. Although I've only used Queen's in the early elementary, not the older ones.

No, we are using Spelling Apples and MCP spelling.

The advice I can give is we have been using Math U See for 7 years and love it. I'm using it with three boys and its hands on math. We really like it and will continue to use it through high school.

We saw it and loved it. We took our oldest three, 12, 10 & 8. Its a clean movie with a great message. The adult theme regarding "porn" stuff went over 10 & 8 year olds head and it was spoke about in such a way that it kept the movie clean for kids. They did a great job of keeping the movie family friendly.

Mice traps with peanut butter. Thats what works with us. Once we had a family of them in our basement. It took a few days, but got them all with peanut butter in a mouse trap.

Focus on the Family Plugged-In gave Fireproof a 5 out of 5 rating for family friendly. Heres the review http://www.pluggedinonline.com/movies/movies/a0004166.cfm

Having said that, I did watch a clip this morning where Kirk Cameron was being interviewed about the movie. It was mentioned that he doesn't kiss anyone except his wife, even for a movie. So in this movie, where there is a "passionate" kissing scene, they flew his real wife, Chelsea, in for the scene, and shot it as a silhouette of the two of them kissing. I thought that was very sweet and romantic. I am so proud of Kirk for having a marriage and family that has been successful amid Hollywood (they've been married 17yrs, but in his words "by Hollywood standards we've been married like, 70yrs."). He's a wonderful role-model.
And heres the Fox news article about it http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,427161,00.html

I know it's a wonderful message, which I completely support. But I have a really hard time watching a movie - no matter how great the message - if it's bad acting. And unfortunately, a lot of these smaller companies (esp. when they're working with volunteer actors), while I want to support them, put out some movies with seriously bad acting, LOL. Dh really wants to see it, but I'm not sure we'll be able to make it happen while it's in the theaters. We may have to wait until it's out on DVD.

Did you see Facing the Giants? The acting in there was great considering they had a shoestring budget. I don't think the acting will be bad, if its like Facing the Giants.

We are. I'm so excited to see it. Our family loved Facing the Giants and Flywheel. I'm excited to see a clean movie with a good message.
