  1. Tammy, good for you! It's always such a wonderful joy to read for ourselves. :)
  2. Will soon be doing Leslie Sansone: 5-Day Slim Down (5 Miles)
  3. 4 Miles of Leslie - Walk Your Way Thin: Punch Up Your Walk - like this one. Just Leslie by herself and some slightly different moves.
  4. Tammy, I assume that you're asking me about the same subject matter and not my favorites in other areas (fiction, etc.) I really want to read Barbara Demick's other book - Logavina Street. I love her writing style. Too many books, too little time! :) My amazon wish list keeps growing. Would love to hear your favorites also, whenever you have time. Yes, although I liked it just fine, I definitely did not love it, and yes, I thought that Hadley was a little irritating and clingy/needy to say the least. The main reason that I stuck with it was because we were in Paris at the time. Other than that, I had no particular attachment to this book, Hadley, or Hemingway. The latter = yuck! I love the cover, however. :)
  5. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: I hear you. Oh boy, do I. Only difference is that I have lots of weight to lose and I will forever struggle with that. I was going to hit "Like" on your post, but didn't think that it would make much sense. Just know that you're not the only one feeling frustrated. I'm about to do Leslie's 5K with a Twist.
  6. Tammy, this was one of my favorites from last year. I absolutely love this book. I haven't read Escape from Camp 14 or any other books on North Korea, other than Nothing to Envy. I have a few on my wish list. I heard about Escape from North Korea on NPR and it sounds very interesting also.
  7. I just saw them. Thank you so very much. :)
  8. Already did lots of stretches and yoga moves. Am about to do 2 Miles of Leslie.
  9. Sorry to keep bothering you. Disregard if it's too much of a pain. Any chance of member birthdays being posted again? Thank you. :)
  10. I LOVED this book. Yes, the title is certainly catchy. The cover always makes me smile. :) I almost included the image, but deleted it in case I may possibly offend others.
  11. Praying right now. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:
  12. I can't wait to get a few hours to myself to see this. Thanks to you, Rosie. :)
  13. About to soon do Leslie's Walk and Kick.
  14. I'm reading The Maxwells of Montreal - Volume 2 - about a Baha'i family in Montreal in the early 1920s and beyond. It's a thick book - more than 400 pages. It'll take me a while to complete.
  15. Although we had a lovely vacation, I've missed everyone here. Am soon about to do 1 Mile of Leslie. Starting back again slowly. My body seems to need a slow start. :)
  16. Forgot to add that we just saw Argo and really enjoyed it.
  17. Yes, I'm Persian. My sister told me about Shahs of Sunset. I only saw it for a few minutes. My favorite book and one that some of my friends have absolutely loved is Funny in Farsi. She also wrote a sequel which I love. That's to start you off. :) There are some others, but I personally prefer the light-hearted ones than the ones with tragic and depressing endings. The same goes with movies. I love the movie Offside - that will tell you something about the present Persian culture. And if you have a nice Persian restaurant near you, then lucky you! Finally, you might like to visit my Persian board on pinterest. Let me know if you need more book suggestions. I also love the movie Max. Yes, Persepolis was great. Very depressing at times, but definitely describes what many (my cousins, for example) went through. We're Baha'is, and currently, the Baha'is in Iran are going through lots of persecution. :( I make a great fesenjan. :) Me too. Her late husband was Persian. I've read both - liked the first okay. Didn't love it. I hated the ending in My Uncle Napoleon. I remember being in a bad mood for about 2 weeks after. The worst part is that it was a true story. Mind you, I'm a wimp when it comes to tragic endings.
  18. I read this while we were in Paris. Didn't love it, but liked it and remember it quite well.
  19. I don't think I'll read The Handmaid's Tale, since I've seen the movie several times and have loved it. I read this a few years ago and liked it. Loved both of these. I just finished Mr. Rosenblum Dreams in English and give it 3 Stars. MY RATING SYSTEM 5 Stars Fantastic, couldn't put it down 4 Stars Really Good 3 Stars Enjoyable 2 Stars Just Okay – nothing to write home about 1 Star Rubbish – waste of my money and time. Few books make it to this level, since I usually give up on them if they’re that bad.
  20. Not much time this morning. Going to do a Power Mile (Leslie Sansone) and then hopefully an Ellen Barrett workout later. I will be offline for a few weeks. Would someone else here please start this thread? Thank you so much. :)
  21. Running late this morning. Am about to do a 5-Mile Leslie - my favorite 5-Mile DVD of hers. It's not her normal type - no class and too much chatter - just her alone. Normally in our pool just because it's right there. But I do so love the ocean also and plan on going more often. I like the variety. :)
