  1. About to do Denise Austin: Shrink Your Female Fat Zones. Something to hopefully make us all smile. :)
  2. New thread. Please post your workouts here. Everyone welcome. :)
  3. Yes, I used to like to also. I still sometimes do and I have such wonderful memories of running. I ran for years until my mid-30s. I now realize, however, that it would further damage my knees and that's just the start of possible problems. I'm 45 now. I can't do what I did at 25, nor do I think that it would be wise. The key thing, I think, is to listen to your body. Again, I can no longer do all that I did in my 20s and early 30s. I wish I could. Twenty years ago, when my dad was in his early 60s, he and I used to go jogging every morning. One day, we almost tripped over a body on the ground . Turns out the poor guy had just died, collapsed right there. He used to run every morning, but suffered from high blood pressure. Since my dad had been suffering from it also, I asked him to stop running and he never did again. He now walks, swims and cycles every day. He takes a milder approach and is doing great for someone in his early 80s.
  4. Walking again soon. Sorry to sound so boring.
  5. Will soon be doing 4 Miles (or possibly less - depending on time) of Leslie.
  6. Will soon be doing 4 Miles of Leslie.
  7. I love Jamie Lee Curtis's hair. :) Unfortunately, my hair would not look as nice as hers. Frizzy and grey is just not the most ideal mix. Grey and straight is absolutely gorgeous, I think. Good to know. I hadn't thought of that. A few weeks ago, dd and I saw a lady by the grocery store and her grey hair was absolutely beautiful - long, straight, gorgeous. Dd said that she looked as if she was about to do some heavy-duty moves with swords and daggers. She looked like this picture.
  8. 4 Miles of Leslie - not now, but later today.
  9. Different moves from magazine clippings that I've saved over the years - weights stuff, stretching, etc. Swimming later today.
  10. The book was lovely, but it's definitely more geared for those who are interested in Baha'i history in the U.S. or Baha'i women. I can't imagine it being of much interest otherwise.
  11. Will soon be doing Ellen Barrett: Pick Your Level Weight Loss Pilates and hope to go for a swim this afternoon.
  12. Good Morning Robin :). I just finished The Diary of Juliet Thompson and give it 4 Stars. It's a story of a famous painter and one of the early Baha'is in the U.S. I found it so interesting/coincidental that she lived in an apartment building in NYC owned by General Tom Thumb and I just read about Tom Thumb's wife a few weeks ago . Also, Kahlil Gibran was a neighbor of hers and Einsten's ex-son-in-law was a Baha'i living in the same building also. MY RATING SYSTEM 5 Stars Fantastic, couldn't put it down 4 Stars Really Good 3 Stars Enjoyable 2 Stars Just Okay – nothing to write home about 1 Star Rubbish – waste of my money and time. Few books make it to this level, since I usually give up on them if they’re that bad.
  13. Will soon be doing: Denise Austin: Get Fit Daily Dozen
  14. New thread. Please post your workouts here. Everyone welcome. :)
  15. My dd is using this at the moment and has been learning a lot. Now, the challenge will be to get my son to use it.
  16. Will soon be doing Denise Austin: Get Fit Daily Dozen
  17. Will soon be doing: Raquel Welch Yoga - a very old workout, but it's tough. Going swimming later today.
  18. Thought to share this. The older I get, the more I realize that I should really and truly stick with walking, yoga, swimming, etc. Now and again, I start to doubt myself and think that I need to do heavy-duty cardio like I did when I was younger. No more. I really need to stop doubting myself. High-intensity will aggravate the knee problems that I already have and may worsen hypertension, etc. I just don't think that it's good for me anymore. I have to admit that now and again, I miss my daily runs, but then common sense kicks in. Obviously, one needs to just listen to one's body.
  19. About to soon do 5 Miles of Leslie.
  20. Nothing this morning. Going to definitely try to go swimming later this afternoon.
  21. Hoping to have time to do 5 Miles of Leslie this morning. If not, I'll do less.
  22. Good morning Robin, and thank you, as always for this wonderful thread. :grouphug: Bit of a slow reading week for me. I finished Tell No One and give it 3 Stars. I felt a bit nostalgic since much of the story took place where I lived during grad school. I mean, the exact same places. :) MY RATING SYSTEM 5 Stars Fantastic, couldn't put it down 4 Stars Really Good 3 Stars Enjoyable 2 Stars Just Okay – nothing to write home about 1 Star Rubbish – waste of my money and time. Few books make it to this level, since I usually give up on them if they’re that bad.
