There's only room for three in my marriage: God, my husband, and me.

My son came out of public school at the end of 5th grade and we did MOH1 when he was in 7th grade. He was adament that he not do Ancients this year, so he is doing American History for 9th grade. We will pick up with Ancients for 10th grade. I am saving some of the American literature for later when we study 20th Century events.

That is absolutely beautiful! Your daughter is very talented.

Our pastor knows us pretty well, but that has more to do with the fact that dh is a deacon. The pastor's wife also used to be my mentor when I was in a mentoring program at the church. Our church is a good size (1000+ membership) and our pastor strives really hard to know each person's name, but there is no way he could attest for where we are all at in our spiritual walk.

I got the book at my library and it is great! Thank you!
You are very welcome. I have it downloaded on my Kindle since I also use it for a class I teach on Sunday nights.

Thanks for all the great information. We will doing this gradually at my husband's request. I will replace things with a gluten free alternate as we use things up. It may not be the ideal way to proceed, but at least this way dh is on board.:tongue_smilie:

I watched this with my dad over Christmas. He was born and raised in a small town in Mississippi and said that the movie was spot on. While not everyone was as cruel as Hilly, there were definitely those who were and those that were afraid of what others would think if they weren't.

I have a book called The Name Book: Over 10,000 Names, Their Meanings, Origins, and Spiritual Significance that I use to find meanings of names. It is pretty neat. It even has scriptures to go with the names. It is the first book I was ever able to find my name and my ds18's name as we have very unusual names.

My dd10 loves Francesca Battistelli, Barlow Girl and Jamie Grace. She also listens to alot of what her older brothers listen to (Switchfoot, Disciple, Kutless).

Okay, I have finally convinced dh to take the plunge and for us to go gluten free. We are doing this for health reasons - dd10 has Hashimotos, ds18 has severe intestinal issues that nobody can figure out and I have lupus and fibromyalgia.
I need some serious hand holding. This is a huge step and I have absolutely no idea how to get started. So, if you are gluten free, what would be the top things you would advise someone who is wanting to go gluten free? Also, what are the best places to get recipes and mixes so I can make the transition as smooth as possible?

I am so sorry for your loss. :grouphug:

I agree to start with waxing. When I was working at the spa, I had several teen boys and even some come home from college on the weekends that would stop in just to get their eyebrows cleaned up. They would only come in every 3-4 weeks after the initial wax. Takes only 5 minutes.
Now, I can't get my ds18 to let me wax his, so I use a pair of facial shears and clean up his bushy eyebrows, but he doesn't have a unibrow going on.

What about combining Hakim's History of US and Notgrass America the Beautiful? I am combining Notgrass high school American History with Hakim's History of US. I think it balances out perfectly and it wasn't very difficult to line them up.

I used it with my ds18. We live in Oklahoma. I was pleased with it and feel it prepared him very well for the written test.

Well, having worked in both an ortho office and a neurosurgeon's office, I would say don't go the route of the ortho, but find a good neuro who specializes in scoliosis. I second the PT as well.

I saw it with a couple of teen girls a couple of weeks ago. I agree that it pushes the PG-13 rating.
I loved the original, but only liked the remake. I must be getting old as some of the scenes in the remake made me uncomfortable.

For my dd10, I set her up with an email account through gmail that is used only for Khan Academy.

Each of our kids has a tv in their room. There is no cable linked to those rooms. They are only able to watch DVD's and the boys play the xbox in their room.

Great. Now another reason I think I need an Ipad for.

Praying for you and your family!

I'm 37 and never heard of diagramming a sentence until I found this forum.

Oh! I just went to OK's page...and they offer K12 through 11th grade so far....12th to follow soon. Wow!
And their site says they are still taking applications for this year...so I guess they have plenty of seats in the program.
They probably do still have seats available. I don't think K12 has been in Oklahoma for more than a couple of years. The most popular one here that I know of is Oklahoma Virtual High School. There is also a new one called Epic Charter that lets you pick and choose from several different curriculums. Some of the individual school districts also have their own virtual schools.
How old will YOU be when ...

I will be 44 when youngest graduates high school and 48 when she gets her Bachelor's degree if all goes as planned.
