Well, having worked in health care, I can say universal precautions were used whenever body fluids/waste products were present. Period.
So, no, I don't make a distinction in that regard. Waste product, body fluid, none of which should be deliberately released in a public pool.

That's supposed to be shipping code...gotta love auto-correct. I know I received a free shipping offer from them and can't seem to locate it. Does anyone have a coupon code for free shipping? I found some cute homeschool shirts I would like to order.

I had the same issue when I first got TT for my boys. We ended up getting TT 4, doubled up on alot of the lessons and worked pretty quick thru it. We will be finishing up next week so I would say it was good for us because there were some concepts that boys really needed to get before we moved on to TT 5.

Note to self: Do NOT find out if your store carries these.

Yup, we ended up skipping the science videos.

We have a book with all of them in one volume.
1. The Magician's Nephew
2. The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe
3. The Horse and His Boy
4. Prince Caspian
5. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
6. The Silver Chair
7. The Last Battle
I hope that helps!

Stay away from the K-8 board. Seriously.

Creepy. Totally inappropriate and I would risk Ds being upset with me. :grouphug:

It was important for me to keep my maiden name in some form. I didn't hyphenate, but since I don't have a middle name, I kept my maiden name as my middle name.

Agree with the others who said he teaches a fluffy prosperity gospel. I think he is a likeable guy and that he is sincere, but I believe he is sincerely deceived. I find the WoF movement to be a very dangerous false doctrine.

Psalm 34:17-19
English Standard Version (ESV)
17* When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears
****and delivers them out of all their troubles.
18*The Lord is near to the brokenhearted
****and saves the crushed in spirit.
19* Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
**** but the Lord delivers him out of them all.

Read alouds at the dinner table, are a way to "do" a chapter, with no pain.
I'm using more and more textbooks as read alouds. I don't buy the TMs or any of the kits, activities, or extras. I just READ the book or have the student READ the book.
:iagree: We did that. I was so over astronomy so we just read through it a chapter at a time, no extras. We are now reading through swimming creatures before moving on to human anatomy.

That is a great deal. I purchased it for a lot more than that but have yet to be able to fit it in so far on a regular basis. We did a few if the activities and I loved how it's all laid out for you, which is what I need. It really is fun. I decided to make it a point to schedule a block of time 3x a week for this upcoming school year.

I budgeted $1200 for 2 kids this year. I did splurge a bit but I feel better knowing we have everything and won't have to worry about running to the library or not having the needed supplies. I would rather cut back in other areas of our budget to be able to get everything we need and some wants as well.
I also figured I could resell our curriculum and get back about 1/3 of that to go towards next year's curriculum.

I am so sorry for your loss. Praying for you and your family.:grouphug:

I was really torn between these two. I went ahead and ordered Artistic Pursuits because I would like for them to work individually.

I get that. I have tried everything only to realize that less is more. I'm back to old pen and paper. I have homeschool tracker plus, have used the well planned day planners. I even tried the well planned day online. I was leaning on trying the ultimate homeschool planner by Apolgia this year, but I resisted. Just pen and paper this year.

I'm a convert. Just picked up our better binders last night. I'm hoping to get the dividers on sale soon.

Mine were impacted so choose to be put to sleep during the procedure. Took me about a week to be able to open my mouth wide to eat normally. Lots of liquids and soft foods for a week, tylenol and took it easy. Just had to remember to rinse out sockets after eating with nifty syringe they give you.
Same here. It's been 15 years and what I remember was pain. :scared:

Math: Teaching Textbooks 5, Xtramath.org.
I came across a list of math literature books on pinterest and I hope to check some of those out from the library. I need to do better about consistent trips to the library.
Writing: Winning With Writing 5. I'm still tempted by IEW, but WWW is working, so we're still sticking with it.
Grammar: Growing With Grammar 5. I also purchased a subscription to Grammeropolis from The Homeschool Buyers Coop.
Spelling: Sequential Spelling. We started this back in March and I wish we tried it sooner. This is really great for dyslexic students. We've been doubling up on lessons and will be wrapping up level 1 this month. My goal is to work through levels 2 and 3 this year. We are using the DVD and downloaded onto iTunes to play on the iPad. This ensures it gets done, LOL.*
Bible: Apologia's What We Believe Series, Vol. 3: Who Is My Neighbor?
History/Geography/Bible: Sonlight Core D + E. I am really excited about returning to Sonlight and studying US History. I chose Sonlight because it is literature based and it's open and go.
Art: Artistic Pursuits Book 1 Grades 4-6. *This is the first year we have used an art curriculum. It's independent, which is what sold me on this. I am really hoping it works for us.
Critical Thinking/Logic: Building Thinking Skills 2 CD. We worked through the first level workbook. I wanted to try the cd this year.
Science: Apologia Human Anatomy. We will work through this with a group of friends. We are really excited about this. We will work through Zoology 1 Flying Creatures on our own as a read aloud.
Handwriting: Copywork for Future Superhero's. We will also continue to practice cursive.
Question about Sequential Spelling DVDs
in K-8 Curriculum Board
Posted
We've been using the DVD. It basically teaches the lessons and allows them to work independently without you having to read the words to them.
