  1. Ugh! No, no, no! I got sucked into a FB political discussion last night and this morning, despite repeated telling myself not to go there. I blame the PMS:glare:. No matter how nice, logical, respectful, and humorous I tried to be, I still got insulted. People lose their minds over politics. All reason goes out the window. It just gets nasty. I love a good rational debate, but I think politics and reason just cannot exist in the same space.

    :iagree:

    WOW! Thanks for the info!

  3. Here is a scenario that I have seen a lot of. Joe got injured at work. He went from making 2000 a month to getting 1000 a month. His bills come to 1500 a month. He is only allowed to make an extra 200 on the side and still get his disability. He really cannot work he is in too much pain his injuries are too severe to hold a steady job. He can work a little from time to time. If he gets a regular job he will lose his disability. He can't hold a regular job because of the pain. However, he is capable of holding a job under the table job from time to time. It is the only way to make ends meet despite the pain and further injuring himself. What is "Joe" to do?

:iagree: This sounds like my dad.

  4. Not saying it is right but a lot of people on workman's comp do not get enough to pay their bills. So they do things that will injure themselves further just to be able to make it financially. We can't see some injuries from the out side. Is it possible that his shoulder is really bothering him but he has to sell stuff just to make ends meet, despite the pain?

:iagree:My dad is not on workman's comp, but he is on disability. He barely makes enough to get by. He can barely manage but he sometimes does pick up heavy items to turn around and sell just so he can survive. Yes, it makes his injuries worse, but he does what he can. You don't know the whole story, so I wouldn't get involved.

  5. Finally cashed in the coupon a few weeks ago and took a look at them.

Completly-- underwhelmed. IMHO, uninspired worksheets you would find as busywork in a public school to keep the kids quiet and occupied with little learning value, just on an ipad.

My rating: Don't waste your time, even for free.

(and people who have known me for a while on these boards know that I rarely post negatively directly about a curriculum; I usually limit it to why it didn't work for my family specifically, or what I feel may be it's niche market . . . I feel really strongly about this one-- it could be nice for folks who just really love worksheets, or need something to keep littles who want to "do school" busy while working with older kids, if they are willing to turn over an ipad for such a purpose. Many of the worksheets even in the fourth-sixth grade range consist of tracing dotted line answers to questions-- as in the answers are filled in for you and you are just tracing them . . .)

    :iagree: I was not impressed.
