  1. We met online through a dating site. I realize this is becoming more and more common, but I'm still a little embarrassed about it. :)

Online dating site, too! :D I've been a little sheepish about it, but as you say I see it more and more often. First time we spoke on the phone, we talked for 5 hours. I knew we were going to get along famously then and knew for sure we were getting married when I met his family!

  2. And if you must have a little bit of bread or bagel, I highly recommend the Udi and Rudy's brands. I just looked them up on Amazon, and I find them locally much cheaper than that. Don't let it scare you! And for the record, I'm not gf, my son is... So, I eat this stuff right next to regular bread and bagels, and I think it tastes fine. It's the first gf bread-type items that I've tried that really are a decent match.

  3. We meant to delay and started doing our research about which ones to do when ds turned 2. We realized that many of the vaccines were to help babies and toddlers until their systems could fight off the diseases themselves. So now we haven't done any. We're still considering tetanus and c pox if he hasn't gotten them naturally by the time he's in his teens.

  4. This isn't what you were asking about but wanted to share a different sort of idea. When ds was a toddler, he was an EARLY riser. He was regularly up for the day at 4:45. We just set up our playroom so that all the doorways could be gated and so that it was super duper child safe, and I kept a pillow and blanket in there. I regularly slept for another hour or 2 after he woke during that "season" by moving us both in there and closing off the gates. You obviously don't want any advice from me as I never figured out that sleeping thing. Just thought something like this might help until you find a good schedule.

  5. Love the family tree idea and your history suggestions! Thanks for chiming in. I (roughly) based the list on the Guest Hollow topics but had added in pioneers and life on the Mississippi b/c of books that I already owned including 3 or 4 Little House picture books. Now that you mention it, I do have a couple books about the moon landing or at least astronauts as we visited the Space Ctr in Huntsville earlier in the year. Thanks again!

  6. I'm going to do a 1 yr overview of Am History using picture books (Maestro, Fritz, Adler, d'Aulaire) for Kindy next year. Would you look over my list of topics? Do I have too many or did I miss something important?

I'm not so sure that we're going to hit the wars and stuff towards the end. I'm thinking I'd rather just pick a few people to read about and mention that they lived during such and such war. Any suggestions for who to study WWI and on?

Thanks for taking a look!! :)

  7. In the samples that I saw on the website, it looks like most of the student activities are coloring and copy work. Am I wrong? (I hope I'm wrong!) I was looking for more hands on or crafty ideas. I'm considering using the David C King books, http://www.amazon.com/Wild-West-Days-Discover-Activities/dp/0471239194/ref=sr_1_6?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1310590652&sr=1-6 , but I'd love to have something all planned out especially at this price.
