  1. I had not thought of this, but I think this is a good idea. There are so many programs out there that look great...it would be nice to have a couple of years of doing something like that. I wanted to do the WP Sea and Sky, it looks really fun and interesting. Thanks everyone for your input! :)
  2. Wondering if anyone has done this? I'd like to do SOTW 1 and 2 for 3rd grade and SOTW 3 and 4 in 4th grade so that in 5th grade we can do the 4-year cycle. If you did this, how did it work for you? How did you schedule it? What is a must-do in your opinion and and what can be skipped? TIA :)
  3. Well, I took a test this morning and it was negative... but still no period. So I'm hoping maybe it was too early to detect anything.
  4. I think it's a good idea to use an infant carrier in the first few months. It's more practical at first i think. this way you don't have to wake a sleeping baby by transferring the baby to a stroller. i would ask for infant carrier. i had the britax companion, i think that's what it was called.
  5. Thanks! I'm trying to be patient and wait until morning to test, but it's so hard!
  6. that I'm pregnant? Here's some background info: I had my youngest ds last year in January. My period came back in September 09 and it has been a consistent cycle of 32 days since. My dh came back home a couple of weeks ago. He was deployed for a year. And now my period is 3 days late. So I'm just wondering if I could be pregnant again?? I almost don't want to say it out loud because I'd be too sad if I ended up not being pregnant... Is it too early to take a test yet?
  7. Did you check out progressivephonics.com? I just printed off the first book to use with my ds. It looks pretty fun and it's FREE! :)
  8. When you click on her name, what does her profile picture look like? I think you can tell a lot about someone based on their picture. My dh friended this girl he knew back then, I don't know in what way. But her picture was very seducing and so naturally I had a problem with it and told him so. He deleted her shortly after that. He does have some other female friends on there, that I don't know. But it's ok with me, since his sister knows them too.
  9. My kids love Atelier Art. It's a little pricey though.
  10. Well, my dh has been wanting one since I've known him. He grew up with them and is completely aware of how much work they are. I made sure he is, just in case he forgot LOL. It's a good time for us, since he's coming home from a deployment and is gonna stick around for at least a year, hopefully...fingers crossed...
  11. Thanks for the links. I will be reading them!
  12. We will definitely consider a rescue. Thanks, I haven't even thought of that. Tells you how much I know about dogs, ha.
  13. My dh and I decided that we are going to get a puppy, a labrador retriever, when he gets back from his deployment. He grew up with dogs and he's been wanting to get a dog since as long as I known him. I finally said yes. i have questions though, I hope to find some answers here :) 1.What do I need to get before we pick up the puppy? 2. What is the average price for a lab? I found a breeder who sells them for $650. Is that a good price? 3. What should be included in that price? Like shots, and things like that? 4. What questions should I ask the breeder once we do go see the puppies? The only contact I had so far was a phone call to ask if there were any available and to tell him we'd be stopping by once dh gets back. That's all I can think of so far, but I'm sure I'll think of more questions later. Thanks for helping me out :)
  14. We do have the next Queen book, but I'm going to sell it. I'm switching her to FLL, because like you said, we find it to be way below grade level. My dd needs more of a challenge. Maybe I will take a look at FLL 2. How long did it take you to finish FLL 2? Thanks for your input :)
  15. We are almost done with Wordly Wise 3000 book 2. We have been doing one lesson per week. I guess I'd like to know how other people who are using this do it? How do you spread it out? Do you do it all in one week or do you do it over two weeks? TIA
  16. move on to the next level right away or do you wait until next school year? My dd has finished Language Lessons for the Very Young. For 3rd grade she will be doing FLL 3. I'm wondering if I should get her started on it now or wait until we start our new year. TIA
  17. Grammar? (FLL3) Spelling? (Spelling Wisdom or Spelling through Copywork) Vocabulary? (Wordly Wise) Writing? (Writing Strands) Cursive? (Handwriting w/o Tears) This will be for next year, 3rd grade. Do you do it all, 5 days a week? Or do you break it up? If you do, how do you break it up? TIA
