Any suggestions? Would like to get him some books for his b-day that pertain to those. Fiction or non. Any good ideas? Thanks!

We're looking at getting a mat for the dc. Dd loves the one they use at dance, she flips and rolls on it without problem. I believe it's 4" thick. Does anyone have any recommendations, websites to order from, or any tips? Thanks

Anybody? :lurk5:

Has anyone been to one of their performances? They will be appearing near here, and we are considering going for my 6dd who enjoys many types of dance. Would it be appropriate for one her age? Any reviews? Thanks

My girls love American Girl dolls. Including the bitty twins, we have 7 dolls for 3 girls. They play with them all the time and make up all kinds of neat little activities for them. I think they are very nicely made dolls. But...I'm not convinced they are actually worth the money and are superior to all the other dolls. I think the Madame Alexander and Goetz dolls are probably just as nice and a little less expensive. There's also some dolls from England (Girls of All Time, or something like that) which aren't cheaper but look a little nicer, IMO. With American Girl, I think it is given that you are paying a premium for the name and the ability to buy matching accessories and an accompanying story line.
I don't know about the Goetz ones, but I would stay away from the Madame Alexander ones. Dd got one for Christmas one year and the hair was a giant puffy frizzy mess with in a couple of days. Called the company and I had never experienced such rude customer service people before. She has a Corolle doll with hair that has done really well.

Thanks for the quotes so far. Keep them coming please. My kids would problably enjoy the uranus one:glare::D Thanks for the idea to search writing prompts, I'd been trying to think of something for writing assignments, don't know why I didn't think to do that, that's so much easier. :001_smile:

Hi all. So we are going to do the Hogwarts Correspondence course this October for a few weeks and for our morning copywork(Quill writing) I need some Harry Potter book quotes. I'm looking for ten, so if you have a favorite quote from the series, could you please post it and tell which book it is in and if possible where at abouts in that book it is.:001_smile: I really appreciate it as I am really looking forward to doing this with the kids.:D

Sadly, both my dc, 6 and 11, know who Major Tom is, thanks to daddy:glare: As a joke, a joke mind you, I put the William Shatner version on dh's ipod, seriously, if I hear that song one more time:lol:

Wow, thanks so much for posting this. We're going to do it in October for a few weeks. Going to throw in these two books for ds since he's interested in philosophy and just ordered some cheap ebay Gryffindor scarves for when they get their house letters.:001_smile:

We purchased a Memoria Press one to try this year(Wind in the Willows) and found it very disappointing compared to the Veritas ones. Sometimes the guides do feel like busy work but, we do like the mix of questions and activities in the Veritas guides.

Any other input?:001_smile:

Thanks for the replys. The kids are 11 and 6, okay, and I wanna play too:D. They love the active life explorer games, thanks for reminding me about those. Glad the Zumba games were mentioned,I've been looking at the 2nd one. Hmm, which one, which one:001_smile:

Anybody used these? I'd like to get one for dd for christmas, but I'd like some opinions. Are the scents overpowering? She likes fruit and vanilla type perfumes if that helps. Thanks:001_smile:

Do you have any you like? They'd prefer one that uses a mat. Also, how are the moves they do? Are they a little too inappropriate? I know that is more of an opinion but I'd really like some.:001_smile: What about the attire the characters wear? I've debated off and on about getting one, cause I think it looks fun, but don't want to start something that I'll regret later, kwim? Any thoughts? Thanks:001_smile:

Okay just tried with Mozilla Firefox and it worked:party:I can now quit obsessing over this and download some lectures:D Thanks so much for helping Tress and Night Elf!:001_smile:

Hmm, I just tried again and still can't. This is driving me crazy. I've contacted them, but was told clear cookies and don't use internet explorer and it still didn't work.

We started it this year with a K and a 5th grader. It was honestly, one of the best things we added this year. I was amazed with how much they were able to memorize. If it matters, we used the book and cd.:001_smile:

I would start out in the Orange book; if it is easy--great! She'll have a low stress experience while jumping into a different math. It will build her confidence.
:iagree:

Oh wow. Awesome deal. Wish I could fiind a code for that, guess I shouldn't be throwing out my catalogs.:D I shouldn't have gotten on there though, just found out Neil deGrasse Tyson has another one out, ds is going to flip out. Here it is if anyone else was in the dark on it and has a Tyson fan http://www.thegreatcourses.com/tgc/courses/course_detail.aspx?cid=1816

We love that movie! It was DS's first movie at the theatre. We downloaded the soundtrack from iTunes in the parking lot on the way out.
Yep, had to get it on itunes too:D I love it, the kids demand we play Rainbow Connection everytime they see a rainbow now and of course I can't count how many times they've sung Man or Muppet. :001_smile:

Hello all. Does anyone know of a good version of this that is hardback and has nice color illustrations? And if possible not an abridged on. Thanks!
