I've been reading the WTM for the first time and I was wondering we've been using Shurley English the past two years, what is the differnece between diagramming sentences and classifying them they way you do in Shurley English. Thank you.

We did use OPGTR. I have done the covering up and having him sound the rest out and then he does fine, I'm just not sure how to get him to do it without my help. Thanks for all the replys.

We really liked Noeo science. It does have books which you can read to the student and then the student can take notes or draw a picture if they prefer on what they've learned. Then it uses the young scientist club kits for the experiments which we loved. You could just get the kits and use them as a science curriculum.

I don't know if its an eye issue. I don't think it is. It's like he just wont try if its a big word. Thanks for your reply.

Okay I had been looking at purchasing this thinking it would be a good thing for my ds but when I looked at the sample pages online it looked like it was mostly simple one syllable words is that right? Can anyone who uses this or has used ot give me some information on it? I'm trying to find something that can help ds read larger words. Thank you.

Hi. I'm trying to find something to help my second grader with breaking words apart to sound them out. When he gets to a three or four syllable word a lot of the time he just kind of refuses to break it apart on his own. Any ideas what we could try? Thanks.

Hi. I was curious if anyone could tell me more about using these. I was considering doing this instead of a textbook reading program this year. Do you learn literary elements(plot, main character, foreshadowing, etc) with these? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
