  1. Hi, please share your favorite rhubarb recipe...just for making now or a canning recipe for use later. Thanks! :)
  2. I wonder why I can't find the new thread when I type it into the search. Only the old one from about 3 weeks comes up and then I have to follow the links to the new ones. I'm doing a little yogaX today. It's my favorite. :D
  3. We have a store called 3 Bears and they are a costco type store where they box things up for you instead of using bags. I just go there when I need some boxes. They always have 'em and don't mind me just taking them. You can ask for boxes at any of the grocery or hardware stores, etc. If they have them, they'll just give them to you. Yes, when you list ppd, it includes the shipping and the paypal fees. I think it's tacky to ask for pp fees later. I actually usually don't even account for those. I may miss out a little on that but I still think I'm getting a good deal. I just make sure I get the shipping right and try to make the price fair. I don't use the shipping label from pp. I honestly didn't know it was cheaper than the post office. I always thougth it'd be more expensive but I just never looked into that before. I usually just send media mail with no confirmation unless it's something expensive. Then I'll get insurance just to be sure. I've never had anything go missing. For heavy books, you really need to put them into a good box. They throw and toss things around pretty good at the post office and you wouldn't want it to break open and then get lost.
  4. I have an omega and really love it. It works well and does so much more than just make juice. I do not like the waste of the pulp though. I do wish I would have just saved my money a bit more and went with a Vitamix. With it you get all the fiber instead of wasting it.
  5. It's really a lot cheaper if you can ship via media mail. If you have a scale at home you can package everything up and figure out how much it weighs and then go to usps.com and figure out how much shipping will be. Paypal usually charges a couple of bucks for receiving money. I'm not sure exactly what the percentage is. When I list something, I usually do ppd (postage paid).
  6. Thanks! P.A.P. Upper for me today. My last X2 workout!!! Taking a recovery week next week and then starting Pump the following week. I ordered it! It's on the way!! I'm very excited! I have high hopes for this one. :D
  7. Thanks you guys! I'll really look into that. I have some items listed on homeschoolclassifieds but you can only list 5 items there so that's a bummer. I like the name for the facebook group you made.
  8. I've listed what I have here on the swap boards but I'm wondering if there are any facebook groups or pages that you all know of where you are allowed to list what you have for sale or where you can just ask people to contact you for a list of things I have. I'd really appreciate it! Or any other places as well...where it's free to list. :001_smile:
  9. Oh, ok, I thought you sucked them down raw or something. lol My dad used to do that back in the 70's. eww lol
  10. Thanks for those book recommendations. I'll see also if they have them or are available through our library. I'd like to get more into the whole raw food thing. I think it could be very beneficial. I've checked out some recipes online and I signed up for a couple of newsletters about it, but it seems to me that most of the recipes are for deserts. I didn't know you can eat eggs on a raw food diet...
  11. Yes, I color mine. I'm 42 and the past 4 years that gray has really started to show. I still feel young at heart but when that gray shows (along with my yucky ashy blondish brown, I start to feel really old and I don't feel good about myself. So yes, I color it and as soon as I do, I feel 10 years younger. :001_smile:
  12. haha. Thanks for that info. I'm going to put my order in today. I'm getting the base kit and the cardio dvds seperately. I'm going to have my son built me a step out of wood. Someone told me the step is 8" high? Is that for only one? Aren't there two of those on top of eachother. Should I have him build it 16" high, you think? I can't wait to hear how you like that. I'm not so good with going slow either but it looks interesting. Me either. The Insanity one has a slow burn though. I like it...every once in a great while. lol I was supposed to do Mobility & Recovery yesterday but I really hate that one. I chopped some wood instead and then today is P.A.P. Lower. I really love that one though. Hi! I'm new here so...welcome back. ;) Running is such a cheap therapy. I do love it...With a name like Kleine Hexe, are you German? Just wondering, cuz I am. :)
  13. Holy Moly! So glad you all found him ok!!! X2 Yoga for me today.
  14. How are you loving Pump? Are the cardio dvds the ones you need the step for? I did X2 P.A.P. Lower yesterday and am doing P.A.P. Upper today.
  15. I am not so fond of X2. The whole first month was a waste, imo. I'm not sure if it was because I only had 2 balls instead of all 4? idk. The second month was ok. Some good workouts there and I do like the 3rd month. It's definitely not one of my favorites though. Sorry to hear your shoulders etc were hurting. Hope that's all better now. I can imagine Tai Cheng to be good. You'll have to let me know how you like that. I can't wait to do Pump! I wish I would have bought that instead of X2. I'm going to get the base and the extra cardio dvds and have my son just build me a wooden step to save me some money. lol So, last week I took a week off of X2 because the phase III does wear you out, plus I needed to spend some time chopping wood because we're running out and have mainly only rounds...Fun in the summer; not so much in cold weather and when it's really necessary...This week I'm back to phase III for a week and then I'm taking a week of recovery before starting Pump on the 2nd. I think I"m going to order today! I'm very excited! :D
  16. Oh, I've switched to it too a while back after reading about how canola oil is used as a pesticide. :001_huh: I love EVOO for my salads and coconut oil for cooking. I haven't put it on toast since I don't eat too much bread but I'll have to try that next time. Don't go TOO crazy though. lol It's still a fat and should be eaten in moderation and not devoured jar by jar. :tongue_smilie:
  17. Here are some links that we've used: http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/humanbody/ http://kidshealth.org/kid/htbw/bones.html'>http://kidshealth.org/kid/htbw/bones.html'>http://kidshealth.org/kid/htbw/bones.html'>http://kidshealth.org/kid/htbw/bones.html http://kidshealth.org/kid/htbw/ I had a couple of others saved but the links don't seem to work anymore. We did Sonlight when homeschooling and during Core 5 they did anatomy. I remember they had a boys book and a girls book. They boys' book was called The Body Book for Boys so I'm guessing the girls' version was The Body Book for Girls. hth
  18. Hi Everybody! I'm glad to have found you here. I see many of you are doing beachbody programs and some that I've not heard of before. Last year I did a couple of rounds each of P90X and Insanity (and went back down to my 20's weight YAY :D) I've been doing P90X2 since January...I'm still on the border of this one whether I like it or not. Have any of you done it? I'm starting a new challenge on April 2nd where I'm going to do Pump along with BBL. I can not wait!! Last year I lost the fat, this year my goal is to see my abs. :) I don't follow the meal plans or anything. I eat my own stuff but I do track the calories so I can stay in range.most of the time lol
  19. The one game my kids loved from the very beginning til just a few years ago was Sum Swamp. http://www.amazon.com/Sum-Swamp-Addition-Subtraction-Game/dp/B00004TDLD What a really fun game where they unknowingly learn. ;) Other than that, we did a lot of card games. Just with a deck of cards. Like you had to collect four 3's to win, or 5 8's etc, or get 1,2,3,4. Stuff like that. Counting and adding and subtracting is also always fun when you are doing it with gummy bears. lol :001_smile: Sorry, I'm not familiar with the ones you posted.
  20. That's a great idea about the mp3 player! I have a couple and I'd say it's not the same as getting a shot or getting blood drawn. The last time they had used some reddish pink color and boy, that itched for a couple of months! I guess I was allergic to it? I heard from some other people that that happened to them too with that color. I say go for it. I would really think about the location. You said the back of the leg above the ankle...how will that look if you have to wear a nice dress with high heels like to church or something?
  21. Definitely a dog person. I suddenly became allergic to cats in my teens and therefore don't interact with them at all anymore. I do think they're cute though. But nothing could make me happier than my two little dachshunds. ;) They're the best!
