Prairie~Phlox
They had a pain scratch on their bumper and I have a small dent below my gas cap on the drivers side, so it was obviously their fault. We exchanged info. She did go to her insurance agent (she was a small foreign gal that hardly spoke english, so I didn't know what would happen. FF, last week, got a call from her insurance and had to get an estimate on our van. Ours is a 2001 Chrysler Town & Counrty, not likely going to do anything to even fix it, but now what should I expect from the insurance. Will they just send us a check for the estimate? Expect us to have it fixed if they pay? Anyone ever been through this?
Lawana
In my similar experience, I was cut a check by the insurance company and was under no obligation to do the actual repair, which I did not do.
Arcadia
We were given a specific auto body shop to go to and the owner just fax our insurance the quotation direct, giving us a copy. Ours was a slight dent on the front passenger door and the quotation was more than $3k. Insurance came back to us in a few days to send our car in for repairs and they paid the shop direct. Our insurance did cut us a check for car seats replacements after we submitted the receipts. They just told us to get the car seats we wanted and that we don't need to match the model that was in the car. My kids were in car seats at that time and the lady that hit us told her insurance we had our two children in car seats in our car.
